Jazz Singers for Hire in Montréal

Q: How much do jazz singers cost in Montréal?

Hiring jazz singers typically costs between $230 and $2,000+, with an average of $700. Rates depend on the singer's experience, performance duration and whether the vocalist performs with a live band, backing tracks or as part of a duo. Jazz singers are a popular choice for drinks receptions, corporate dinners and evening entertainment.

Q: What styles do jazz singers perform?

The jazz singers perform a range of vocal jazz styles including classic standards, swing, bossa nova, soul-jazz, jazz-pop crossover and Rat Pack-inspired sets. Many jazz singers have a wide repertoire that spans several decades of popular and jazz music.

Q: What events suit a jazz vocalist?

Hiring jazz singers is ideal for wedding receptions, cocktail hours, corporate events, gala dinners, private parties and restaurant entertainment. A jazz vocalist brings warmth, personality and sophistication to any occasion.

Q: Do jazz singers perform with a live band?

Many jazz singers perform with a live accompanist (usually piano or guitar), a small jazz combo or a full band. Some also offer performances with professional backing tracks. A live band provides the most authentic jazz experience. It is worth checking each singer's available formats.

Q: Can jazz singers learn specific songs?

Most jazz singers are happy to learn specific songs for special moments such as a first dance. Jazz singers are often skilled at arranging well-known songs in a jazz style. It is advisable to make song requests in advance to allow time for preparation.

Q: Will a jazz singer perform during the ceremony as well as the reception?

Ceremony singing is less common than reception work, since the repertoire is different, but many singers will cover both where the timings allow. Drinks receptions, the meal and the evening are the usual slots, and they are often quoted as one booking rather than separately. Agreeing which parts of the day are covered at the enquiry stage avoids paying for gaps in between.

Q: Do jazz singers work at smaller private events?

Small private events are common bookings, and a singer with one musician suits a room where a full group would overwhelm the space. Many performers scale the same set down for a private dining room and up for a larger function. Venue limits on volume or space are worth mentioning early, as they usually decide the format rather than the repertoire.

Q: Are jazz singers suitable for background music during dinner?

Dinner sets are a standard part of the work, pitched at a level that lets conversation carry rather than as a featured performance. The same singer will often lift the set afterwards, when the room is ready to listen or dance. Saying which parts of the evening are background and which are the focus shapes how the sets are built.

Adel Jouini "I came across Adel's library of music by chance, when I was searching for artists that I hadn't heard of, or hadn't had much airplay in my opinion. I was blown away. Where had I been all this time. To think this was April 2021, and he had been around for much longer than that. How hadn't I heard of him before now. I love his mastery on the guitar. I introduce listeners to his track "Bursting bubbles" before any other, because for me there is so much beauty to it. Just when you think you've heard it all, it takes another twist. Anyone who has the time should take that opportunity to explore his music." Based in Montréal, Quebec Kemi B - Presenter of the Jammin' Zone with Kemi B

He communicated with me prior to the event to iron out the details, they arrived promptly to set up, and my guests are still commenting on how wonderful their music was! I used Gig Masters for the first time, and they delivered the best! Mike, you and your group made my parents anniversary party extra special. I told you in person, but once again you did an amazing job. Anyone looking for a talented, reliable, exceptional group for their event should look no further than Mike Goudreau!!!
