A guide to booking

Hire Musical Acts

Live music sets the tone for any event. The right act transforms a reception, dinner or party from ordinary to memorable, giving guests something to talk about long after the night ends. With 14,235 musicians, bands, DJs and singers listed across dozens of specialist categories, finding the right fit starts with knowing what kind of sound you are after.

Bands for Every Style

For weddings and private parties, wedding bands, cover bands and party bands remain the most popular choices, performing crowd-pleasing setlists that keep dance floors full. If you want something more specific, categories like jazz bands, soul bands and funk bands each bring a distinct energy. Rock fans can explore indie bands or rock bands, while country bands suit rustic and outdoor events. Those planning themed evenings might look at swing bands or decade-specific acts from the 1920s right through to the modern era.

Solo Musicians and Singers

Solo performers offer flexibility and are often ideal for ceremonies, drinks receptions and more intimate settings. Guitarists, pianists, harpists and saxophone players are among the most in-demand solo acts. Singing guitarists combine vocals with acoustic accompaniment for a full sound without a full band. Wedding singers and wedding musicians specialise in ceremony and reception performances, while string quartets and classical ensembles provide an elegant backdrop. Violinists and cellists also work well as featured performers during the meal or reception.

DJs and Vocal Groups

A skilled DJ can read a room and adapt on the fly. Wedding DJs and event DJs handle everything from background music to late-night sets, often providing their own sound and lighting equipment. For something different, the sax and DJ format pairs a live instrumentalist with a DJ for a modern, high-energy combination. Vocal groups are another strong option: a cappella groups, gospel groups and choirs bring a rich, layered sound that works particularly well for ceremonies and corporate events.

Tribute Acts and World Music

Tribute acts give your event a ready-made theme. Tribute bands cover everything from ABBA and Queen to Elvis and the Beatles, with acts that recreate the look and sound of the originals. For cultural events, the world music categories include Indian and Bollywood entertainment, Latin, salsa and mariachi, Irish and Scottish entertainment, Spanish and flamenco, and many more regional styles.

Pricing for Live Music

Rates vary widely depending on the type of act, group size and event requirements. Solo musicians and DJs generally sit at the lower end of the price range, starting from $110. Full bands, large ensembles and specialist tribute acts typically cost more. The average rate across all musical act categories is $450, with prices reaching $1,700+ for premium acts or extended performance packages. Thank you, Barry, for a great evening!" Music of very good taste and an incredible sound." Translated from Portuguese Based in Lisbon, Lisbon District, Portugal 13th October 2026 Helena Silva Photo of Fierce Weddings Fierce Weddings "We had this amazing 3-piece band for day two of our wedding in billy byrnes and they were absolutely fantastic. They played such a great mix of music that there was something for everyone, and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed them. They created a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish and kept everyone entertained. We couldn't have asked for a better band and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for live music for an event." Based in Waterford, Munster, Ireland 19th October 2026 Lyndsey O Donoghue Photo of The Vows The Vows "We came across The Vows initially on Instagram and went to see them play at The Quarter at Potbank about a year for before our wedding day. Straight away we knew they were the band for us. Their repertoire was amazing and just what we wanted. Also a massive thank you to them for learning a completely new song to play for our first dance, it couldn't have been easy but it sounded so good. They have been excellent from start to finish and the band even helped my wife organise a surprise saxophonist (Oli) to keep the party going after the band's two amazing hour long sets. Nothing has been one bit difficult with them and everyone at our wedding said the band were fantastic. 10/10 would definitely recommend." Based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, United Kingdom 19th October 2026 Luke Turner - Wedding Photo of LL Sings LL Sings "She was INCREDIBLE! It was the exact vibe that I was looking for and LL Sings nailed it. I wanted a soul singer that can bring the energy and tunes, she did exactly that. She brought the room to life and really made the event shine." Based in London, England, United Kingdom 23rd October 2026 LL Sings - Corporate event Photo of Elite Duo – Vocals & Saxophone Elite Duo – Vocals & Saxophone "I had the pleasure of seeing this talented duo perform at a private party, and I have to say, they were absolutely fantastic! The combination of vocals and saxophone was just beautiful — smooth, elegant, and so easy to listen to. The singer had such a lovely voice, and her performance was incredibly polished, expressive, and effortless. The saxophonist sounded amazing as well, with such a warm, rich tone that complemented her voice perfectly. You could really tell how well they worked together. What I especially appreciated was their choice of songs — a really tasteful mix of music that created such a lovely atmosphere without ever being overpowering. Everything felt natural, classy, and just right for the occasion. It was one of those performances where you could simply relax, enjoy the music, and appreciate the talent behind it. Such a great experience overall, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these two to anyone looking for beautiful live music for a wedding, private party, or any special celebration. Really lovely musicians and a wonderful duo!" Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada 4th November 2026 Steve - Private event
