Piano players near you bring versatility that few other solo musicians can match. A single performer can cover gentle classical pieces for a ceremony, relaxed jazz at a drinks reception and contemporary pop hits for an evening celebration, adapting their style to each part of your event.
The style of music matters most when picking a piano player. Jazz-focused performers lean towards standards and swing, while classically trained pianists excel at formal ceremony repertoire. Many modern piano players blend genres freely, moving between instrumental covers of current chart songs and traditional favorites within the same set. Some also offer vocals, turning a solo piano booking into a full singer-pianist act. If your venue has an in-house piano, let the performer know in advance so they can assess whether to use it or bring their own digital keyboard.
Pianists in Australia typically charge between $140 and $1,300+, with an average rate of $480. Shorter ceremony-only bookings sit at the lower end, while full-day packages covering multiple parts of a wedding or event cost more. Performance length, travel distance and whether the pianist provides vocals or additional equipment all affect the final price.
The average price for Pianists available in Australia is $480 (AUD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Jaylene Fergus
"Jaylene’s beautiful music provided our Changeover Dinner with a delightful ambience. Jaylene played when required and put up with our speeches when not playing. Then ended with some dancing. Thanks Jaylene"

Gabriel Gonzalez
"Thanks for a thrilling performance, Gabriel.
There is no doubt that your mastery of piano and keyboard is imminent. While I can barely play piano, I do listen as I did when I was last in Sydney. That you have come so far, with such a large repertoire of both classical and South American masterworks, is not presented in what is a grouping of informal music.
May I commend you on the interesting variations of intonation that you are able to express. Your technique is enviable.
I am unfortunately not an expert in critique. What may help you as you press on to a rating of 102 out of 95, are some observations.
That the Kwai is good is undoubted, and even with the Beale that you played upstairs in Allans, before Allans closed, the Pitt Street store, compared against the longer Yamaha Grand that you also played, in any of these, the higher octaves can sound a bit thin against the richness of the lower and middle registers. There were moments in My Way, when I sensed the thinness of the upper octaves. I thought also that as you had to reach so far, you had in fact more time than you think, to add more tone and meaning. I thought that you were a bit rushed at that point of the performance. You have all the skill necessary. Just take a little more time, particularly on your first right hand move into the upper octaves, to let the jazz notes fall like a sprinkling of rain. They are short notes and to fit them into strict time with such a large move up the keyboard, seems for a moment to squeeze the time you think you have to execute several high notes. Elsewhere in the several performance pieces, you extract a richness also in the higher octave notes. Well done.
That the piece New York has syncopation and time changes is challenging. Your performed well. I do seem to think that you may benefit by understanding or viewing performances of tap dancers dancing to the piece. It is a difficult idiom, and not one I used to adore. So if we have experienced the dance moves, we may then relate better to the changes. Still very good playing.
I so much enjoyed your performances."
Tunes For Two
"Marta and her partner were a real delight.
As this was a family dinner I didn’t want the band to be too dominant, so that we were still able to talk and have a conversation.
It was absolutely perfect and they even gave us a bit of extra time. Thank you so much."
Iryna
"We listened to Iryna playing at The Woodward in Geneva, and she was absolutely wonderful. Her music was so elegant and emotional, and it created the perfect atmosphere for the evening.
You could really feel her passion for the music. It was a pleasure to listen to her and definitely one of the highlights of our stay."
Dmytro Miroshkin
