Sound Technicians / Engineers for Hire in Scotland

The sound technicians / engineers manage the sound and audio at events, including setting up PA systems, mixing live music, managing microphone levels, running soundchecks and ensuring clear, balanced audio throughout the event. A professional engineer can make a significant difference to the quality of live music and speech at any venue.

Hiring sound technicians / engineers is essential for live music events, conferences with multiple speakers, festivals, theatre productions, award ceremonies and any event where professional sound management is needed. Having a dedicated engineer allows performers and speakers to focus on their delivery while the sound is managed by a specialist.

Some sound technicians / engineers bring their own sound equipment, while others operate equipment already provided at the venue. Many offer both options. It is advisable to discuss what equipment is available at the venue and what the engineer needs to supply.

For large events or busy dates, several weeks to months of notice is recommended. Smaller events may be possible at shorter notice. Gig Heaven recommends making enquiries as early as possible, especially if the engineer also needs to supply equipment.

Booking as early as possible increases the chance of securing your supplier's availability on your event date, particularly during busy times of the year. However, many suppliers also accept last minute bookings, and we have successfully arranged bookings for clients with just a few hours' notice.

Contact the supplier you are interested in booking by clicking "Contact Now" on their listing. Discuss your requirements using our messaging system or join a video meeting (like a Zoom-call) to speak face-to-face. Once you agree to the contract you will be asked to pay a 10% booking fee to confirm the booking, with the balance payable directly to the supplier by the due date you've agreed on.
