The 19-17 JAZZ BAND (Nineteen Seventeen Jazz Band) is a traditional jazz group, celebrating the music from New Orleans. This group breaks the barriers and ignite the most diverse audiences using their ability to interact with the public and recuring to the irreverent sounds from 1917. The 1917 Jazz Band stomps to a fun beat that plays large concerts as well as intimate events. Costumed in vintage vests and hats, this Band is formed by experienced musicians and they know how to flexibly and immediately react in the moment. The group's versatility makes it suitable for any type of situation, from private parties (anniversaries, weddings, dinners, etc.) to public parties (street entertainments, concerts, bars, etc.).

The 1917 Jazz Band stomps to a fun beat that plays large concerts as well as intimate events. Costumed in vintage vests and hats, this Band is formed by experienced musicians and they know how to flexibly and immediately react in the moment. Our best venue was a wedding in Alfama (one old square from Lisboa) where we made a Wedding street Parade and all the people in the windows come out to inflame the group energy.
We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them in good vibes.

Since we started we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across PORTUGAL and beyond.
Louis Armstrongs is the best world music inpiration for us. The group's versatility makes it suitable for any type of situation, from private parties (anniversaries, weddings, dinners, etc.) to public parties (street entertainments, concerts, bars, etc.).
We normally arrive 1 hour before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
As a roaming band we’re more than happy to play outside.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually feel our repertoire is ageless and very focus on the New Orleans Jazz style. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
