Angham Al Oud is a live Arabic music ensemble based in Dubai and serving all the Emirates. It is led by Wael Salah, an Egyptian oud player and singer who often plays and sings at the same time, and the founder of the Rouh Dubai Choir (Dubai Opera). We have been performing since 2019, and we also perform in Kuwait and Egypt.
Our main strength is the takht sharqi: a small classic Arabic ensemble built around oud and tabla, with nay, qanun or a singer added to suit the occasion. The repertoire covers classic tarab in the style of Umm Kulthum and Abdel Wahab, Egyptian, Levantine and Gulf songs, and improvised taqasim.
For weddings, we perform the zaffa with a live band, prepared around the couple's taste. The oud player can also walk with the couple as a one-man zaffa and then rejoin the band. We also play receptions and dinners, hotel lobbies and lounges, private dinners at home, and corporate and cultural events. Every programme is agreed with you in advance, including song requests.
Recent work includes Liwa Festival 2026 and the UAE premiere of the film Al Sitt. Professionalism and musical feeling built on study and experience. The venue provides the sound system.
