* The playing area must be guarded against direct sunlight (cellos don't like getting hot!) & the floor must be level.
* We have minimum performance space requirements. This depends on the final lineup of musicans required.
* When power is expected, it should be within 2 metres of the performance space.
* Is the performance indoors or outdoors?
* How many people will be in attendance?
* Are there any maximum sound volume preferences/restrictions?
* Does the client expect any "call & response" for songs? (eg. immediate response to song requests)
* May Beach Symphony choose which songs are sung and played instrumentally?
* Who will be the Single-Point-of-Contact at the venue, who we will work through for direction?
* Where is the event? Where at the event do we unload/load , and where do we store our equipment?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves.
Our best gig was the corporate event at Capercaillie Winery at the Hunter Valley. Their prestigious Members-Only event. Such fun spinning the night from elegant background music, to filling the dance floor! And the client was super-wonderful!
The best venues have been various spectacular wedding venues such as Pier One (Sydney Harbour) and the award-winning wedding venue Mali Brae Farm at Moss Vale (Illawarra)
It's hard to choose between weddings and corporate events! We simply love starting off as elegant strings-led music, moving to toe-tapping joyous acoustic pop, then watching the guests bopping with us with our dance tunes!
We come from a diverse background, from the pub rock scene, to the cafe scene .. even orchestras. This diversity gives us many angles, to ensure our clients and their guests stay entertained and helps keep the night blossoming!
We have 3 favorites! The "Bridgerton" vibe, Fleetwood Mac (for their harmonies & range of music) and Dua Lipa (dancetime) !
We have 2 typical setups.
The first is our purely acoustic, unplugged setup. We normally arrive 30-45 minutes before showtime, and play either 2 45 minute sets.
Our second typical setup includes our professional sound system with our sound engineer. We usually arrive about 90 minutes to 2 hours beforehand to setup the system & to do testing. This may include our drummer and other musos joining us. We play 3-4 sets, these being:
1) Welcome & ceremony music. (usually elegant strings-led instrumental music, and can include vocal pieces)
2) Mingling/canapes/cocktails music. (usually background with vocals and light beats.)
3) Dance set. May include a heartfelt "first dance", then crowd pleasers until the farewell song!
Yes, we love playing outside!
We just need to be sure our cellos and other tender instruments are protected from direct sun! (they don't like getting hot!)
To give us power outside , we also have a range of silent battery-operated sound equipment.
Yes, we love to hear what our clients are looking for! These are optional extras, but we love tailoring to make the event unforgettable!
