Bethany is a classically trained solo cellist with over 20 years experience in delivering high quality music for Weddings, parties and events. She has played at events across the country and in some of the most prestigious venues including Chatsworth house in Derbyshire, Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire and Lincoln Cathedral. She plays on a classical cello using a pick up to amplify for larger venues and outdoor events. Bethany has a wide choice of repertoire to choose from, with Classical favourites, contemporary, pop, rock and film music on the list. Professional, piano backing tracks are used to accompany to give clients a quality, well rounded performance and relaxed feel to their event. All backing tracks are played through a PA system provided by Bethany. All electrical equipment is PAT tested and accompanied by a current certificate. The use of all equipment is included in each quote. Bethany also has PLI.
= areas covered (up to 220 miles)
= free travel (up to 20 miles)
On arrival I need easy access to unload equipment and a parking space within easy walking distance. I need a performance space of 2 metres squared with access to a power socket. I also need a chair providing, preferably without arms.
If clients can let me know of any issues there might be finding the venue (if the postcode doesn't take you there for example) and details of where to unload equipment and parking. If clients are wanting me to play outdoors they will also need to check with the venue that they have a licence for both live and recorded music to be played outdoors.
All equipment required is provided.
I am able to play a playlist in between sets if required.
I played for a few years in a row at the RHS flower show at Chatsworth house. It was always a great gig to have, a great atmosphere, performing multiple sets a day alongside other musicians.
Weddings are what I specialise in, playing for both ceremonies and receptions. Playing for a Brides entrance is always an honour.
I have been gigging since I was 15 but started my own business 20 years ago when I realised I wanted to do this professionally. I have played hundreds of Weddings over the years but I get just as much enjoyment from doing it now as when I started. I like the journey from first meeting and going through the organising and the excitement through to playing as they walk in. It's always a privilege to be part of someone's Wedding day.
I have a very eclectic taste in music and enjoy listening to all types of music. My favourite song varies depending on my mood. I couldn't pinpoint a single song.
I arrive 1 hour before the performance time starts in order to set up and sound check. For a Wedding ceremony I play guests in to the venue from 30 minutes before the ceremony starts. I then play for the arrival of the Bridal party, the signing of the register and the exit of the Bride and Groom. For a 1 hour booking I would play through without a break. For bookings of 2 hours or more I play in 55 minute sets with a 10 minute break in between.
I am happy to play outside weather depending. On a particularly sunny day I would need a shaded spot to sit in. I don't play outside in wet conditions.
All clients are given a repertoire list prior to the booking and are asked to choose what repertoire they would like to hear. For a Wedding ceremony I would ask them to pick all of it. For all other bookings I say pick as much as you would like. If there is anything you definitely want to hear or definitely don't want to hear then let me know.
I have a lot of testimonials and reviews from clients that has always been positive. Most clients say that I am professional, easy to work with and that I can create a romantic and emotional atmosphere that adds the finishing touches to their Wedding day.
