Swing was born in the backstreet clubs of America during prohibition. It was exciting, fun, energetic, wild.
Bobby Mc and The Dukes are bringing that experience back with their vibrant live set. Combining old swing and jazz classics with modern songs done in a jazz style, there’s something for everyone. The band is made up primarily of Keys, Double Bass, Drums, Guitar, Tenor Sax and fronted by Bobby Mc. They are also joined by a full brass section and female vocalist for their bigger events.
As well as numerous event, wedding and corporate gigs, the band have also performed their theatre show, Bobby Mc’s Speakeasy in numerous theatres across Ireland. They also made their debut at the world famous Guinness Cork Jazz Festival this year, playing 12 gigs across the 4 day festival.
From Georgia to Copacabana, from Ray Charles to Barry Manilow, Bobby Mc and The Dukes play songs from some of the greats of Jazz and Swing. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole and more recently, Michael Buble. They also do songs from acts like The Backstreet Boys and Rihanna but just how they like their martinis, with a little twist.
Bobby Mc and The Dukes will swing through time, from the greats, to the greats of today. So come join them for an unforgettable night.

Yes we provide PA and lighting for all of our gigs. If it is an international gig, we can organise a local subcontractor to look after the AV service for us. We also have different packages of AV depending on budgets.
Yes I’m happy to provide Spotify/DJ services for my clients or source a live DJ either, whatever is required.
We played a luxury destination wedding last year on the Albanian Riviera. The wedding was in a stunning hotel on the side of a mountain overlooking the ocean.
Our favourite type of event to play at is a jazz/swing themed corporate or private party.
I started gigging when I was 16 as my parents are musicians. Started working professionally at 18 doing my first international tour. I’ve since played in numerous countries and at high class events here at home solo and with my band.
Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Gregory Porter would all be inspirations of mine for how they made vocal jazz and swing mainstream. Their appreciation for how music sounds. It’s very hard to pick the greatest song of all time but I’m going to say ‘Fly me to the moon’.
No we range from a solo performer up to a 9 piece band and everything in between depending on the budget and event.
Generally 2 hour gig inclusive of a 15 minute break and it takes anything from 1-2 hours to set up.
Very happy to play outside as long as there is cover in case of a change of weather.
My clients can be involved in the playlist for the event. I generally don’t pre decide what songs I’m going to play exactly but if the client has something in particular they’d like, I make sure to include it.
Previous customers would describe myself and the band as quality, classy and engaging. We always play to the audience rather than at them and this does seem to get noticed regularly.
While we specialise in jazz and swing, we also play some soul, blues and rock n’ roll depending on the show that we are doing.
