Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of the highlights of my career was performing in the South of France during a luxury wedding season, playing at stunning venues around Nice and Monaco. Those events combined incredible locations with amazing crowds and reminded me why I love performing. Closer to home, I've also had the privilege of working with venues such as the Celtic Manor Resort, where delivering high-quality entertainment in a prestigious setting is always a pleasure.

What's your favourite type of event?

Weddings, without a doubt. Every celebration is unique, and it's a privilege to be part of such an important day. I love taking guests from relaxed acoustic music during the ceremony or drinks reception right through to a packed dance floor in the evening. There's nothing better than seeing every generation enjoying themselves together.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I've been performing professionally for over a decade. I started playing local pubs and clubs in South Wales as a teenager, gradually building experience before moving into weddings, corporate events and private functions. Since then I've performed hundreds of events across the UK and internationally, both as a solo acoustic performer and with my bands. Alongside performing, I also run my own entertainment business, giving me a great understanding of what clients and venues expect from live entertainme

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I've been influenced by a wide range of artists, from John Mayer and Ed Sheeran to classic bands like Queen, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles. If I had to choose one favourite artist, it would probably be John Mayer for his songwriting, guitar playing and live performances. As for the greatest song of all time, I'd say Don't Stop Me Now. It's one of those rare songs that seems to bring every generation together and never fails to fill a dance floor.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I typically allow 60–90 minutes for setup and soundcheck, depending on the venue and the size of the performance. Once everything is in place, I can provide anything from a 60-minute live set to full-day wedding entertainment, including ceremony music, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party sets. My band most commonly performs 2 x 60-minute or 2 x 45-minute evening sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely. Outdoor performances can create an incredible atmosphere, especially for ceremonies and drinks receptions. The only requirement is suitable cover in the event of bad weather, along with access to a safe power supply if amplification is needed. As long as those arrangements are in place, I'm always happy to perform outdoors.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Definitely. Every event is tailored to the client. I provide a comprehensive repertoire covering pop, rock, soul, funk, Motown, indie and modern chart music, and clients are welcome to highlight their favourite songs or genres. I'm also happy to learn a special request, such as a first dance, provided there's enough notice. During the event, I read the room and adapt the setlist to keep the dance floor full.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Clients often describe my performances as professional, energetic and engaging, while still being polished and unobtrusive when the occasion calls for it. Whether it's creating a relaxed atmosphere during a drinks reception or filling the dance floor in the evening, the feedback I receive most often is that guests loved the variety of music, the quality of the performance and the way I interacted naturally with the crowd. Many clients also comment on how easy I am to work with throughout the planning process, making the entertainment one less thing to worry about on the day.
