Steadily building their artistic style and audience for over a decade, New Jersey-based alternative folk band Cold Weather Company carries a diverse sound, rich with harmonies and instrumental builds. Incorporating elements of more classic folk artists like Crosby, Stills, & Nash, modern folk bands like Mumford & Sons and The Avett Brothers, as well as classical, indie rock, and experimental artists, the band combines the various writing approaches and influences of its three members, Brian Curry, Jeff Petescia, and Steve Shimchick, to create something extremely unique and entertaining.

*CWC also accepts requests for solo background piano / singing pianist / guitar performances, and can prepare requested covers ahead of a performance as well.

For most performances, we are a three piece consisting of three vocals, two acoustic guitars, and a piano. For a stripped-down (without a sound system) performance, we would just require an electrical outlet for a piano/small guitar amps.
Our larger performances utilize our PA system (including vocal mics). We also work with a variety of talented string/horn/percussion players for more expansive performances. Please feel free to ask about that type of performance, as our initial quotes are generally just for a three-piece.
Due to our flexible sound and technical requirements, we can play an intimate living room to a full stage without any loss of quality—it just depends on the type of show you're looking for!
Information regarding parking, load-in, and sound is the most helpful.
We can provide individual amps and/or a full 16-channel PA system as needed. We can provide basic lighting as well.
Yes, we can always shift to a playlist as needed. Though generally in place of breaks, we trade off solo/duo performances.
Absolutely. While we have over 70 originals and draw from a list of hundreds of covers, we're always open to requests in advance. We can also handle many requests on the fly (at least as a solo performance) as needed.
