Yes, I can.I usually play a smooth Spotify or USB background mix before my main set and during any breaks to keep the energy going without dead air.Just let me know:What vibe you want for the warm-up (chill, soft house, amapiano, commercial, etc.)
How long the pre-set or interval is
I’ll handle it so the floor never goes quiet.
The best gig I’ve ever done was a packed Saturday night at The Orbit in Braamfontein (Johannesburg). The crowd was locked in from the first track, the energy never dropped, and people were still asking for one more song long after my set was supposed to end. That night felt special. The best venue I’ve worked at has to be Kitcheners (or any of the properly equipped rooms at The Orbit / Truth). Clean Pioneer CDJ-3000s, a proper DJM mixer, powerful clear sound, and a crowd that actually comes to listen and dance. When the technical side is right and the people are with you, it doesn’t get better than that.
My favourite type of event is a proper club night where the crowd comes to dance and stay locked in for the whole set.I love those Saturday nights with good energy, a solid sound system, and people who actually feel the music — especially afro-house, and deeper house vibes.Private parties and festivals are fun too, but nothing beats a packed club when the floor is moving from start to finish.
I’ve been DJing for about 12 years now.I started out playing at small house parties and campus events while I was still in school/college. From there I moved to local taverns and small clubs around Johannesburg, learning how to read a crowd and control the energy.Over time I worked my way up to bigger venues like The Orbit, Kitcheners, and various private and corporate gigs. I’ve played afro-house, amapiano, deep house and some commercial sets for both club crowds and private events. What kept me going was the love for the music and the feeling when the whole floor is locked in. Every gig taught me something new, and I’m still learning every time I step behind the decks.
The artists who have influenced me the most are Black Coffee, Culoe De Song, Da Capo, and Shimza. Their deep, emotional afro-house sound is what really shaped the way I play and select music. My favourite artist right now is Black Coffee. The way he builds a journey and connects with the crowd is on another level. As for the greatest song of all time… that’s tough, but for me it’s “We Dance Again” by Black Coffee. Every time I play it or hear it, it still hits the same.
Typical setup time:
I usually arrive 60–90 minutes before my set starts so I can check the equipment, do a proper soundcheck, and get comfortable.Performance time:
Most of my club sets are between 2 to 3 hours.
For private events or festivals it can be shorter (1–2 hours) or longer if needed.Just let me know the schedule and I’ll work around it.
Yes, I’m happy to perform outside.I’ve done outdoor gigs, festivals, garden parties and beach events before. As long as there’s a proper covered DJ booth (or at least protection from rain and direct sun), stable power, and a good sound system, I’m good to go.
Clients definitely have a say.I don’t work from a fixed repertoire list. I always ask about the vibe, the crowd, and any specific tracks or genres they want.Of course I bring my own style and reading of the floor, but I’m flexible — if you have must-play songs, songs to avoid, or a particular energy you want, just tell me and I’ll work it into the set.
Previous clients most commonly describe my performances as high-energy, smooth, and perfectly timed to the crowd. They often say the dancefloor stays full the whole set, the transitions feel effortless, and I know exactly when to lift or drop the energy. Many also mention that I listen to what they want and still manage to put my own signature on the night.
Yes, I’m happy to take requests.
I always try to work them into the set if they fit the vibe and energy of the night. Just come to the booth or send them through the organiser and I’ll do my best.
