The distinctive sound of Die Drahtzieher artfully weaves together the influences of three well-traveled gypsy jazz musicians from Ravensburg.
Their numerous engagements with established greats of the genre do credit to the conspiratorial band name and give the trio the confidence to tastefully introduce new timbres and styles to the genre.
In the imaginative arrangements of the Drahtzieher, the instruments meet on equal terms, composed with rhythmic and harmonic precision. This creates complex, almost chamber music-like moments that always carry the spirit of gypsy swing: deep melancholy on the one hand, fiery temperament on the other. In concert, the pioneering spirit of their own compositions complements selected classics of the genre to create a unique and exciting live experience.

We normally arrive 1-2 hours before the performance to set up. Usually the perfomance is 2 x 50 min. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
if the weather is right, yes of course! Because of our instruments we need something to protect the instruments from the sun.
Usually we play our Setlist of old Django Reinhardt tunes some Jazz Standard and Bossa Nova. if needed, we can arrange some songs in jazzy way.
