I'm DJ Alkamar, an open-format DJ with over 6 years of experience playing everything from Lisbon's nightlife to international cruise ships, corporate events, private parties, and weddings.
I love mixing different styles of music and reading the crowd to create the right vibe for every event. No two parties are the same, so I make sure every set has its own unique soundtrack.
My goal is simple: keep the dance floor moving and give people a night they'll remember long after the last song.
= areas covered (up to 150 miles)
= free travel (up to 5 miles)
My setup is quite straightforward and I’m used to adapting to different venues, but ideally I need:
• A stable power supply (2–3 standard outlets near the DJ area)
• A covered or protected space (especially if outdoors)
• A table or flat surface (if a DJ booth isn’t already arranged, I can also bring one if needed)
• Basic shelter from weather (sun, wind, or rain)
• Access to the setup area at least 1.5–2 hours before guests arrive
If the wedding is in multiple areas (ceremony, cocktail, dinner), just let me know, I can adapt the setup accordingly or we can plan the best solution together
I’ll also coordinate with the venue or planner in advance to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day
To make sure everything runs smoothly, I usually like to have a few details about the venue:
• Exact location and access (including parking/loading area)
• Setup areas for each moment (ceremony, cocktail, dinner, party)
• Timeline of the day (so I can plan music and transitions properly)
• Power availability at each setup point
• Any sound restrictions or curfews
• Indoor backup option (in case of weather, if applicable)
• Contact person on the day (planner or venue manager)
If possible, I also like to coordinate directly with the venue or planner beforehand, it really helps ensure everything flows perfectly on the day
Of course, I’m very flexible and used to adapting to different spaces, so we’ll always find the best solution
Yes, I do!
All of my main packages (S, M, L and XL) already include a professional sound system, DJ booth, and dance floor lighting — everything needed for the party atmosphere. I also bring a microphone for speeches and handle the full setup and teardown.
If your wedding has multiple areas (like ceremony, cocktail, and dinner in different spaces), we can plan the best setup together, either by moving equipment or arranging additional sound where needed.
My goal is to make everything seamless so you don’t have to worry about any technical side on the day
Yes, absolutely 😊
I provide continuous DJ coverage, meaning I’m always in control of the music and can adapt in real time to the atmosphere and your guests.
That said, before the wedding I’d love for you to share any Spotify playlists or reference tracks, it really helps me understand your taste and build the perfect vibe for each moment of the day.
Between key moments (like cocktail, dinner, and party), I carefully curate and mix the music so everything flows naturally without any interruptions
The best gig I have done was in a Wedding at Penha Longa Resort, one of the most prestigious hotel and wedding venue in Sintra, Lisbon, where 180 guests and I kept the dance floor super energtic and moving throughout 3,5 hours non stop! I had so much fun and the guests left very happy! It matches with the best venue I have ever perfomed at, in an old Palace previously owned by a Portuguese royal family. It transpired a very intimate vibe but also a great atmosphere.
I’d have to say weddings are my favourite events to play.
There’s something special about being part of such an important day. For me, it’s more than just playing music — it’s about creating the right atmosphere, bringing people together, and being part of moments they’ll remember for years.
I love watching the energy build throughout the night, from the first few songs to a packed dance floor with different generations all dancing together.
I also love festivals and private parties because they give me more freedom to experiment and bring a different kind of energy. But weddings have that extra emotional connection that makes every night feel truly special.
That’s what makes them my favourite.
I’ve been DJing for over six years, and since the beginning I’ve always loved the idea of using music to create a moment and connect with a crowd.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to play in Lisbon’s nightlife, on international cruise ships, and at weddings, private parties, and corporate events. Each environment has taught me something different, especially how to read a crowd and adapt my music to the people in front of me.
I started with a real passion for music and gradually turned that passion into something much bigger. What began with playing for smaller crowds grew into regular gigs and opportunities to perform in very different settings.
Today, I’m an open-format DJ, which means I’m comfortable moving between styles and genres depending on the energy in the room. For me, every event is different, and that’s what keeps DJing exciting.
I have been listening to all kinds and genres of music as far as I can remember. I have a big variety of taste in terms of Artists, but without a question, George Michael is one of my favourite artists and Jesus to a Child is one song that will always stick to me as one of the greatest song ever.
I usually arrive 1.5–2 hours before the event to set up, soundcheck, and make sure everything is ready before guests arrive.
Depending on the package, I can play for 6–12 hours, covering everything from cocktails and dinner to the main party. I adapt to your schedule and make sure the music flows naturally throughout the event, so you can simply enjoy the day.
I love playing outdoors and bringing the right energy to any setting. I just need a reliable power source and a covered space for my equipment — then I’m good to go, whatever the location.
I love getting to know each couple’s taste, so feel free to share your favourite songs, playlists, or any must-play and do-not-play tracks.
From there, I keep things flexible. I don’t follow a fixed playlist — I mix live and adapt to the crowd, the energy, and the moment. That way, your music preferences and my experience come together naturally to create the right vibe throughout the event.
I’d describe my style as versatile, energetic, elegant, and very connected to the crowd. I’m always paying attention to the room and adapting the music to the people, the moment, and the energy on the dance floor.
I don’t believe in playing the same set at every event. I mix live and move naturally between genres, generations, and styles, making sure the music feels right from the first song to the last.
Being Portuguese and having experience performing on international cruise ships has also given me the opportunity to play for people from many different countries, cultures, and musical backgrounds. It taught me how to quickly understand different crowds and keep everyone involved.
Whether it’s a sophisticated wedding, a lively private party, a corporate event, or a big celebration, my goal is always the same: create the right atmosphere, keep people dancing, and make the music feel like a natural part of the experience.
