Jazz guitarist performing standards, bossas, ballads, and blues as a solo, duo, trio, or quartet. Performing as a solo jazz guitarist, duet (guitar/acoustic bass or guitar/saxophone), trio (guitar/acoustic bass/saxophone or guitar/acoustic bass/drums), or quartet (guitar/acoustic bass/saxophone/drums). I can play background music, dance music, cocktail hour, or night club/concert venue, weddings, corporateevents, and festivals. Little to no PA required. Can also provide a vocalist if needed. Have been performing professionally since 1983. Performed with Akira Tana, Larry Hancock, James Levi, Leon Williams, George Alexander, Kobie Watkins. Opening act for Tower of Power and Pete Escovedo jazz orchestra. Played at San Francisco jazz festival, San Jose jazz festival and hotels, country clubs, and restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Miami, Sacramento, and Mid-Atlantic region.

I can play over 200 jazz standards. Ranging from Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Antonio Jobim, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, to George Gershwin, Richard Rogers, and Henry Mancini. All from memory. I don't believe in reading music on any gig.
Require 2 power outlets. 2 meters x 2 meters per musician. 1 parking space per musician.
Directions to the venue. Contact person at venue. Contact info of person paying the band. Attire required for venue/event (tuxedo, suits, casual, ethnic, etc). Stage area. Storage area for instrument cases. Break room/Dining area foe band.
We provide our own stage amps. No PA. No lighting.

Best gigs were the holiday corporate events for IBM headquarters in Palo Alto. The best venue was the Fairmont Hotel SF, and Yoshi's in Oakland CA.

Normally arrive 60 minutes before gig to set up and warm up. First set is played for 60 minutes, with 20 minute break and 40 minute sets afterwards. Therfore ending sets at top of the hour for exact timing of performance.
Yes, performing outdoors is fine, as long as not exposed to direct sun. Canopy, or some type of cover/shade of performance area required. Also access to a power supply/electrical outlet.
Clients always have input. As long as I know the song.
