Electric Moonlight plays the classic sax and guitar anthems of the 70s and 80s by popular global artists like Gerry Rafferty, Hazel O'Connor, Think Lizzy, Supertramp, Hall & Oats, Tears For Fears, Bryan Ferry, George Michael, T-Rex and many more. Our songs also feature complex vocals and harmonies. We play the songs that are both loved by the nation and very complex, meaning that these beloved songs are rarely played live by other bands.
Our Sax player, Roy Turner toured with the Commitments for many years and is reknown within the industy as one of the finest sax players in the Northwest. James Parkinson on Guitar and Howard Page on Bass both played and toured with the band Total Affect which featured James' brother who has now emigrated.
We know there are lots of wedding and function bands out there but we’re different – and in two ways. Firstly we all sing and have all fronted bands previously. This opens up a much wider range of material to choose from and means we can nail all those tricky harmonies that the other bands simply can’t do. Secondly we are all pro musicians, with the focus on the music and musicianship. It's all about playing the songs that you love as well as is possible.
We're not a tribute band and we certainly don't dress up like the original stars; we're different. To us it's not about the look, it's all about the music. Instead of trying to look as good, we sound just as good. That said, we look pretty good too! Roy is simply irrisistable!

We feature sax and guitar solos, so many of the osngs are five minutes long or more. we choose our set according to our clients.
We need power, ideally with multiple mains sockets at either side of the stage or playing area. If outdoors the playing area must be completely covered and waterproof for safety reasons.
We need a stage area that enables our performance, ideally 10m wide and 4m deep.
Capacity, Room size, how to access the room to load gear, time of entry, time when setup must be complete, performance start and end. We need a contact at the venue and their phone number.
We can provide a full PA system and lighting. If the venue has these already we are happy to use their equipment. We can also plug our mixing desk into the venue's PA. We do not provide a osund engineer When using our own mixer the band manages the sound and mix. Lighting is automated.

In May 2025 Electric Moonlight headlined the Bands On The Square festival at Barnoldswick. This is a large festival that takes over the entire town. The stage is set up covering the entire village square. The festival spans three days featuring dozens of talented bands.
Private parties and functions. We love the atmosphere and there is less pressure than performing at Weddings. But we love each and every gig for different reasons!!
James and Howard have performed together in several bands over the past ten years. James is also a solo performer writing and performing his own material using the name One Cure For Man. Howard has performed live and on his albums. Roy Turner has been playing say for fifty years and has toured the UK many times inclusing withThe Commitments. All the band members are seasoned, professional musicians with a passion for music., each starting at a very early age. James and Howard are multi-instrumentalists.
Our main influences are Thin Lizzy, Aztec Camera, George Michael, Tears For Fears, the list is endless!!!
Yes, but we can play through the venues PA system and use their lights, if available.

Yes but only if the performance area is covered and waterproof. We prefer to perform indoors and would assess any outdoor requirement thoroughly before accepting.
We know a lot of songs so the client can have say as long as we already know their request. We are willing to learn a specific song for a client, such as a first dance wedding number, but this would incurr additional charges for the time and studio hire required to learn the song and add it to the repertoir.
Energetic, featuring superb musicianship, playing songs people love that most other bands don't or can't play. We never disappoint and try to exceed our client's expectations.
We usually perform two sets with an interval, the sets being around fifty minutes each. We are happy to do whatever you require.
Yes, if the song is suitable for our four-piece lineup, but we would charge extra to cover our time and costs involved in learning the song to our pro level. We don't busk! 8-)
Roy Turner played with The Commitments band for many years, touring the UK anbd beyond. He is a legend in his own lunchtime.
