As we deliver personalised symbolic ceremonies rather than live performances, our technical requirements are minimal: a quiet, dedicated space for the ceremony, seating or a standing area for guests, and a small table if a signing element is included.

We need to know the exact ceremony location within the venue, access for setup ahead of time, any restrictions on outdoor space or noise, and a backup indoor option in case of weather.

We don't carry fixed equipment ourselves, but we arrange everything necessary according to the specific needs of each event, whether that means sourcing a microphone and PA system for a ceremony, or coordinating directly with the venue's existing setup.

DJisn't something we provide directly, but we can recommend and coordinate with trusted musicians from our partner network for music before, during or after the ceremony.

One of our most memorable ceremonies took place at Palácio de Seteais in Sintra, where the palace gardens created an extraordinary backdrop for the couple's story. We've also had the privilege of working with Six Senses properties, and of hosting a ceremony at the Templar Chapel in Monsanto, Idanha-a-Nova, steeped in centuries of history. Every location we work with brings its own character, but there is something particularly special about weaving a ceremony into settings with that kind of history and atmosphere.

Our director's path into celebrancy grew out of a background in sociology, with a longstanding interest in ritual, identity and how people tell their own stories. That thinking, combined with decades of event planning experience through CONPLAN, founded in 1985, led naturally to training as an APC UK Certified Celebrant and, in 2023, to launching Elope in Portugal.

Our creative influences go well beyond music: Egon Schiele and the Impressionists shape our sense of atmosphere and emotion as much as any musician does. In music, our taste is eclectic, from Celtic and Icelandic music to Ryuichi Sakamoto, The Guest List, The Arctic Monkeys, Patrick Watson, Rodrigo Leão and Oasis.

As a celebrant service rather than a live act, our timing is flexible and built around the couple's day rather than a fixed set. We can conduct ceremonies at any time from sunrise to sunset, and we typically arrive well ahead of the ceremony time to prepare the space, review the script with the couple, and ensure everything is ready.

Every ceremony script is written entirely around the couple's own story, values and relationship, it is never a fixed template. Couples are closely involved throughout, reviewing and shaping the script with us before the day itself.

Couples most often say they feel how deeply personalised and heartfelt their ceremony was, that it truly sounded like them rather than a generic script. Many also mention how calm and looked after they felt on the day, knowing every detail had already been thought through.

We work exclusively across mainland Portugal, from Sintra and Cascais to the Douro Valley, Alentejo and the Algarve. We do not currently offer experiences in the Azores or Madeira.

Not at all. Many couples choose a symbolic ceremony, which carries no legal weight but is fully personalised to their story. Legal marriages are also possible and we can guide you through the required paperwork.

We recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially for dates in spring, summer or early autumn. That said, we understand that elopements can come together quickly, so do get in touch even if your date is close.

Our Intimate experience includes a personalised symbolic ceremony, bridal florals, photography, venue guidance, a printed ceremony script and on the day coordination. Additional elements such as videography, live music or hair and makeup can be added.

Yes, most of our couples plan their elopement from abroad. We guide you through every step, from choosing a destination that suits your story to planning the practicalities of the day itself.

We take care of the entire experience, not only the ceremony itself. From destination scouting and timeline planning to photography, florals and on the day coordination, everything is designed around you as a couple, so you can simply arrive and live the day.

Yes, our celebrants can be booked as a standalone service for couples who already have their own plans in place. Each ceremony is still fully personalised, built around your story through our symbolic ceremony methodology.
