Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

faq
We have listed questions you may have and some we have been asked over the years of providing live music at Weddings and Parties
This is not a conclusive list of frequently asked questions. We are always happy to accommodate and fit in with your requirements
If you have any questions not listed here, please get in touch.
How far will you travel?
We are based in Surrey, however we are willing to travel all over the UK and worldwide.
How long does it take you to set up?
It doesn’t take us long to set up. It usually takes us around 45 minutes to set up, but we allow 60 minutes.
What are your technical requirements?
Our minimum power requirements for the Band are 1 x 13 amp supply.
How much room do you need?
An area around 4m x 3m is ideal for the Trio band although we are used to performing in some smaller areas. We will always fit around what is available.
How long do you play for?
We are very flexible and can play for as long as you need us to play for. Normally we play 2 sets of 60 minutes, although we can split this into 3 sets of 40 minutes.
Do you play music during your break?
Yes, we can play a selection of party songs through our PA system in between our sets so you don’t need the additional expense of hiring a DJ. Alternatively you can provide your own laptop or ipod with your own song choice and play this through our PA system. We have the correct leads to plug from any device into our state of the art 1800 watt Sound System. We use the same sound system that most DJs currently use.
What styles of music do you play?
We play a mixture of well know party tracks varying in styles from Rock, Funk, Disco, Soul and Pop.
Can I choose the set I want at my event?
The songs we choose for our set list have been tried and tested for the last 15 years and we also respond to the audience. The songs in our set work well musically and engage the audience keeping them dancing and singing.
If there are songs that you would particularly like us to play or not to play, then please let us know. You can view our latest songs here (click here). If there is a song or an artist that you would like us to play, please let us know. This would be subject to suitability and a minimum of 6 weeks notice for us to learn and rehearse the song.
Can you play our first dance
Yes, you can choose a song from our current set list
Many couples have a specific song for their first dance they would like played. Please let us know what song you would like and we can add this to our Mp3 play list and play this through our sound system.
Alternatively if you prefer to have it played live we are happy to learn it for you. This would be subject to suitability and a minimum of 6 weeks notice for us to learn and rehearse the song.
How much do you charge?
Pricing varies according to distance of travel (we are based in Surrey), set-up and finish times and how long you require us to play for. Please make an enquiry for an exact quote.
How do I confirm the booking
We will send you a booking confirmation; all you need to do is sign it and send it back to us. Once that is in place and the booking is in writing you can have peace of mind that the booking is confirmed
Can I provisionally book the band?
Yes that is fine to provisionally book the band.
If you still have some arrangements to slip into place eg confirming venue etc I urge you to still contact me. We are able to place a limited time first refusal for you on the band. This will ensure the date is held for you and avoids any disappointment.
We will always let you know if we have another potential booking enquiry on the same date. We can then confirm your booking in writing by completing a booking confirmation form.
Can I come and see you play before booking you?
Yes, Please have a look at our public performances by clicking here
Do you use backing tracks?
No, we are a completely live band and never use backing tracks.
How do I make a booking?
My Uncle is a great singer; can he come up and sing a song?
Yes, it is always great fun when guests sing with us. We can over our full song list in advance for them to pick a song they would like to sing.
What time will you turn up?
We are flexible on when we turn up. If you would like us to be set up before guests arrive that’s fine. At a wedding it usually works well if we set up after the speeches when the venue sets up for the evening party.
Are you insured?
Yes we have public liability insurance up to £1m. We can forward a copy of our insurance certificate to you or directly to the venue. Some venues also ask for this as part of their Health and Safety requirements
Do we have to feed you?
If we are with you for a number of hours we do ask for you to provide something to eat for the band, we are really happy to grab a bite from the buffet. We are really easy going and do not have any special dietary requirements
What do you wear?
If you have a dress code in mind please let us know. For weddings we dress smartly. For parties we dress smart casual with shirts and smart jeans. If you would like us to wear black tie or suits or if there is a party theme please let us know as we always enjoy dressing up.
Do you need changing facilities?
We do not need changing facilities unless it is a black tie event as we will need to get changed after we set up our equipment
What do you do when you are not playing
We fully understand that we are not party guests, we either leave the venue altogether until we are about to play, or hide ourselves quietly away in a corner
Do you pass on parking charges?
Please let us know if there are any parking issues as we have never had to charge for parking before. If in the unlikely event that any extra costs are incurred, that weren’t initially quoted or outlined to you, we’ll gladly waive those costs.
Are there any additional cost
There are no additional costs. The price quoted for the agreed playing times, set up and pack up time is the final price.
What happens if one of you are ill?
We haven’t cancelled a gig in all our time of providing live music at events. We have other stand in musicians we use if this ever happens. We organise the logistics of this and this will never effect your party.
Can you offer a DJ service?
We can play a selection of party songs through our PA system in between our sets so you don’t need the additional expense of hiring a DJ. Or please me a list of songs you would like played and we will add this to our play list. Alternatively you can provide your own laptop or ipod with your own song choice and play this through our PA system. We have the correct leads to plug from any device into our state of the art 1800 watt Sound System. We use the same sound system that most DJs currently use.
If you would like a professional DJ we are happy to refer one to you
How loud will you be?
We always keep our volume to a comfortable level, but loud enough to create an atmosphere. Please let us know if there are any sound issues at the venue or you would like the level to be kept low. We are happy to be flexible on the evening and are able to adjust the volume level to the audience and the venue.
How do you make sure the dance floor is kept full?
We have a list of songs that have been tried and tested over the years. What will you do at my event when you’re not playing?
We fully understand that we are not party guests, we can either leave the venue altogether until we are about to play, or hide ourselves quietly away in a corner ready to be on hand if you need us to start playing sooner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

We’ve been fortunate to play music for so many wonderful events and venues, from Hampton Court to some of the top hotels, but we just love performing at any occasion, from low-key gatherings to large parties, weddings, and balls.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing at all sorts of events but parties and weddings are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We’ve been playing live music for many years, starting out in original school bands from a young age and continuing ever since. Over the years, we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties, and events across the UK and beyond.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We’re all music lovers at heart, and we enjoy following our favourite session players — from well-known drummers, guitarists, and bassists to the incredible singers and musicians behind some of the greatest tracks ever made. We love geeking out about their work and bringing that passion into our own performances. We also love playing songs by well-known artists — they’re always great fun, and we enjoy adding our own unique spin while keeping them as close to the original as possible so they’re instantly recognisable.
