Founded in 2012, Harmonious Chorus is a passionate and dynamic youth choir based in Soweto, known for delivering soul-stirring performances that resonate with diverse audiences. Our choir is comprised of members between the ages of 18 and 40, with a shared love for music and a deep commitment to using our voices to inspire and uplift. Many of our members are currently unemployed, and we strive to create opportunities for them through music.
Our mission is to use the power of music to connect with audiences locally and internationally, spreading hope, joy, and inspiration. Through harmonious and captivating performances, we aim to provide our choristers with opportunities for growth while enriching our communities with the beauty of choral music. We are committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where every member can develop their musical talents and gain valuable experience.
Our Goals
Grow Internationally: We aim to expand our reach beyond local recognition and perform on international stages, sharing our unique sound and story with the world.
Financial Sustainability: Our goal is to create a platform where our choristers can earn an income through performances, ensuring the choir becomes a source of livelihood for its members.
Sponsorship and Partnerships: We seek to build relationships with sponsors and partners who share our vision, enabling us to fund our activities, grow our choir, and enhance our impact.
Professional Development: We aim to nurture the musical and personal development of our members, offering them skills and opportunities that can help them build a sustainable career in music.

Based on the event, we may require a Piano/Keyboard or Sound for backing tracks.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.
We do not own any equipment.

We normally arrive 1 hour before the performance to warm up. We normally perform 2 x 45 - 60 minutes. We’re happy to sing a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade.
We can learn specific songs before the event. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
