One of the most memorable gigs was performing at a luxury wedding in Marbella where the whole evening built from elegant live sax during the cocktail hour into a full party experience with DJ, sax, lighting and packed dancefloor energy. I have been performing at weddings, parties and live events for nearly 30 years, working as a saxophonist, DJ, musician and event producer across the UK, Spain and internationally.

My background began in live performance and developed through years of professional gigging, music education and event production. Over time this grew into creating complete entertainment experiences, combining live sax, DJ performance, sound, lighting and carefully directed party energy.

Today, through Pro Core Events and Robbievansax, we provide high-end entertainment for weddings, private parties, corporate events and destination celebrations.

Prince has always been one of my biggest influences because of his musicianship, showmanship, groove and complete command of the stage. He understood how to make music feel alive, stylish and unpredictable.

I am also influenced by artists who know how to connect with an audience, from classic soul, funk and jazz musicians through to modern dance, pop and party music. As a saxophonist and performer, I am drawn to music with energy, melody, feel and atmosphere.

Choosing the greatest song of all time is almost impossible, but Purple Rain by Prince is definitely one of the strongest contenders. It has everything: emotion, performance, drama, musicianship and a moment that everyone remembers.

Setup time depends on the package and production required. For a simple sax or smaller performance setup, we normally arrive around 60 to 90 minutes before performance time. For DJ, sax, sound and lighting packages, we usually allow around 2 hours or more to set everything up properly and discreetly.

Performance times are flexible depending on the event. We regularly provide short feature sets, cocktail sax, ceremony music, full evening DJ and sax, or complete all-day wedding entertainment. We always plan timings carefully in advance so the music supports the natural flow of the event.

Yes, we are very happy to perform outside and regularly work at outdoor weddings, villas, terraces, pool parties, beach clubs and private venues.

For outdoor performances we need a safe, flat performance area, suitable access to power and protection from direct sun, wind, rain or sea spray where necessary. Professional sound and electronic equipment must be kept safe, so shade or cover is important for longer outdoor performances.

Yes, clients absolutely have a say in the music. We always want the performance to feel personal to the event, so we are happy to discuss favourite songs, key moments, preferred styles and any songs or genres to avoid.

For DJ and sax events, we can work from the client’s music preferences while still reading the room professionally on the night. For live sax performances, we use a carefully selected repertoire that works beautifully for weddings and parties, and we can include specific song requests where suitable with enough notice.
