Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

Some of the largest shows I have played are the State Fare of Texas, The North Texas State Fair, Cinco De Mayo Festival Greenville Ave. Dallas TX. The Coyote Store Gail Texas all well over 2000 in attendance.

What's your favourite type of event?

My favorite event types are up close and personal Acoustic Shows. Private Parties, House Parties and Pool Parties Sports Bars and Dive Bars/Honkytonks. But I do enjoy the larger events also.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started my journey in Country bands in the early 80's after the lead singer for a band I was following was unable to make the show. I then spent the remainder of the 80's performing in Blues, and Classic Rock bands before returning to my Country roots in the early 90's.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

My musical influences would have to be, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Gary Morris, Brooks and Dunn, Ted Nugent, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Alan Jackson among others. My favorite singer has got to be the Voice himself, Vern Gosdin, and my favorite song of the same, "Chiseled In Stone"

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We will need about 2 hours before the show load-in and set up time and about 45 minutes load-out time. I'm very flexible on performance times, I usually start out with a 1 hour set. If the show is 2 hours or or less I will play through that time with no breaks unless asked to pause. On 3 hour plus show will play a 1 hour first set with a 15 minute break. Then a 45 minute set with a 15 minute breaks until the end of the agreed time, or what ever set configuration is requested. I will play past the requested time for an additional nominal fee.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, Outdoor shows are fun, but some kind of cover for shade is appreciated. If none is available please let us know so we can provide it. Please make sure Electric is close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

My Shows Mostly Top 40 Classic Country, Outlaw Honkytonk with a little Classic and Southern Rock with Originals. I do request if I know them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

They would say and have. Jeff's Acoustic shows are up beat yet down to earth and he always gets the crowd involved and partying with him, and he plays music the audience can dance to.
