I've enjoyed doing what I love to do more than anything in the word for more than 30 years, over 2 million miles, and more than 4,500 performances...and I would appreciate the opportunity of performing as part of your event.
I'm available - solo or with the band - seven days a week, year-round.
As a solo performer I sing and play acoustic guitar & lots of harmonica. My repertoire appeals to a wide range of age groups and musical tastes, and draws inspiration from a variety of genres. I have a proven track record of professionalism and a long history of repeat clientele from Northern Michigan to South Florida; New Orleans to the Carolina Lowcountry. I also perform with a backing band that is available from three to six pieces in order to accommodate a variety of venues and budgets.
= areas covered (up to 1500 miles)
= free travel (up to 1460 miles)
First and foremost, I am easy to work with for a living! My job is to accommodate your venue or event...not the other way around. Some of my most enjoyable and rewarding performances have taken place on some of the most unusual staging.
When performing solo, I am able to accommodate almost any performance space.
When performing with the band we appreciate a stage, although a traditional stage is not a requirement. The band cannot set up on grass/lawn. Other than that - we can make it happen!
* All performances must take place within 100ft of a standard electrical outlet (we cannot string together extension cords beyond 100ft).
It is always helpful to know the size of the performance area (e.g. "a small backyard", "a large conference room", etc.), and the anticipated number of people in the audience.
I provide sound & lights at no extra charge.
I do not provide dance floor lighting.
Spotify is against my religion; however, I am happy to provide recorded music upon request, or play your music upon request, provided your source is compatible with the sound system.
I am happy to make announcements fro weddings & events....and I don't charge extra for the service.
From 2013-covid19, I served as the exclusive performer for all events east of the Rockies for Global Exchange Events, a national leader in the production of custom events that connect buyers and suppliers of various industries in a business/luxury environment at some of the nation's most prominent resort properties...including Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Naples, and Amelia Island, Florida; along with New Orleans, Austin, Charleston, and the Carolina Lowcountry.
Since its inception in August 2020, I have been the exclusive performer at Loveland Castle's "Wine and Music" series, held two evenings a month from May through October at The Historic Loveland Castle in Loveland, Ohio (near Cincinnati). I've enjoyed over 150 performances at Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria properties with the ocean providing wonderful ambiance, but the surreal castle garden atmosphere and staging at Loveland Castle can't be beat.
After over 4,500 performances, something I've come to love and appreciate about playing music for a living is that no performer has ever "seen it all." Playing a type of venue or event that I've never experienced before is not rare...it's commonplace. In short, my "favorite type of event" is "the next one."
I began my professional music career while a high school and college student in New Orleans. The experience of beginning my career there was invaluable because I learned to compete and thrive in a world-renowned cultural and tourist center, and New Orleans taught me the difference between being a "rock star" and being a "professional musician." I still return to visit and perform regularly to recharge my showbiz batteries.
I'll have to decline to answer this question. Mentioning my favorite artist and my favorite song might possibly ring a bell with a potential client or two...but it also has the potential to unnecessarily cause a potential client to hire a different act. What is important, is whether or not my repertoire appeals to my clientele and is appropriate for their event. My songlist is available upon request.
Time parameters for set-up and performances are determined by my clients. As mentioned previously...I'm easy to work with for a living. My goal when hired by a corporate or private event client is for "musician arrived and set-up" to be the first thing that they check-off from their list of concerns. I prefer to have set-up complete a minimum of an hour before guests arrive, but, again, that is at the discretion of the buyer.
Set lengths are flexible and at the discretion of the buyer. Rate quotes are typically based on 3 hours of service time; however, the details of a performance are determined by the buyer...not the performer.
Outside performances typically outnumber inside performances. I thoroughly enjoy outdoor performances, although protection from the sun must be provided.
"Jeff was excellent!!! We booked him for a farewell event for our retiring CEO. He was on time, extremely accommodating and professional and our CEO loved the music. Jeff played all his favorite artists! Thank you Jeff, for making the evening so special."

"My musician cancelled at 11:30am the day of my wedding, for a 5pm ceremony. I called Jeff, he returned my call within 20 minutes
and agreed to not only play our ceremony and cocktail hour that night, but also learned the songs for our ceremony THAT DAY, and performed them beautifully!!! His cost is more than fair, and he literally saved the day. Completely professional and kind. I would definitely recommend him."

"Jeff was perfect for our event. We were looking for an acoustic guitarist to play during our event, and Jeff filled that role exactly as expected. He is very talented, and we couldn't have asked for anything better—especially for his rates!! He could easily charge twice as much for what was provided. He was extremely professional, showed up early for the event, and was already set up when we got there. Thank you, Jeff!"

"This band...plays gigs across the United States, performing family-friendly ‘adult alternative’ music that includes a variety of musical dynamics – mixing elements of rock, pop, and country with references to Americana and jazz music.”
