Jill Broughton has been involved in music from a young age. She started playing piano at the Church Youth group and from there began to play in Church services and for a children’s choir. She has participated vocally in Church choirs, special music and other ensembles, as well as leading and participating in worship services throughout Ontario and BC.
In 1997 Jill began teaching piano lessons and later voice lessons, both privately and in music studios.
Jill has graduated from both Eastern and Western Pentecostal Bible Colleges (now Master’s College and Seminary, and Summit Pacific College respectively), earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a Church Music major. She was the Music Director of a Baptist Church (Burlington) for over 3 years, and a Pentecostal Church (Ancaster) for 2 years, and the Director of a Music Academy from its' inception in 2008 until 2011. Currently Jill teaches piano and voice online throughout Canada and in her home in Cambridge.
She enjoys playing hymn sings (and 'oldies' sing-alongs) at Senior's Homes in the Cambridge area, and led a Christian homeschool choir for two years and an adult Church choir for 3 years.
It has been Jill's privilege to sing and speak at Church Senior's and Ladies meetings, giving her testimony as a cancer survivor or other topics, leading the group in hymns/choruses, giving a vocal concert or seasonal devotional. Jill has had the opportunity to sing on the WNYB TV station based in Orchard Park, New York, as well as having ministry opportunities in Florida and overseas (Africa, England, Holland and Hungary). She has also enjoyed sharing in music ministry at Christian campgrounds in Ontario.
I love to make music! Whether it’s singing in Church, at home playing piano or singing along with a piano student’s song, I love to sing! ~ Jill

Assorted secular songs/books
I prefer to have a piano or keyboard already in place at the venue, as well as a mic and amp. I do have that equipment (portable keyboard, mic, amp) if needed.
Directions are always helpful, and knowing if there are stairs or an elevator if I am bringing my own equipment.
I do not have lighting equipment. I do have sound.
No
I have played at several Churches (for Ladies or Seniors meetings mainly) as well as family funerals. Always honoured to participate.
Oldies or Gospel meetings
I have been involved in music since a child, with my main experience coming from singing/performing in Church. Also playing at Senior's homes.
Hard to pin this one down!
If a keyboard (piano)/amp/mic already set up, I would need less than half an hour. If I am bringing my own equipment and setting it up I request 30-45 minutes in advance to arrive.
Preferably not
I prefer a general idea of Oldies, easy secular or Gospel. Happy to provide suggestions of my set list.
Easy to work with, keeps in the time limit, works on song requests in advance.
My experience is mainly in Gospel/Church music, and oldies Seniors songs.
