I am a professional saxophonist, clarinettist and bandleader that plays Jazz and Bossa Nova Like you know it from the good old records Like Duke Ellington, Stan Getz, Count Basie or Bennie Goodman. I also offer a Gypsy Swing Formation based on the Music of Django Reinhardt.

Bio:

Konstantin, a German-born swing enthusiast, completed his jazz studies at the age of 22 at the Glenn-Buschmann-Jazzakademie in Dortmund under Uwe Plath. For years, he taught at various music schools and played with key figures in the local jazz scene, but eventually felt stuck and uninspired by the routine.

Seeking a change, he doubled down on his own development, taking lessons with world-leading jazz instrumentalists such as Ken Peplowski, Harry Allen, and Adrian Cunningham. The real turning point came when he attended a masterclass in Barcelona with his idol, Scott Hamilton. Captivated by the city’s culture and vibrant jazz scene, he moved to Barcelona in 2023.

The move paid off. He quickly connected with the Hot Club de Sants, a renowned local Gypsy jazz band, who welcomed him as a regular clarinet soloist. With a vast repertoire and a versatile style, Konstantin has since established himself firmly in Catalonia’s jazz world. Highlights include performing at the historic theatre El Prado with the Sitges Coral, being featured as a star soloist at The Velvet Room, performing in a duo with Carla Motis at Hotel Vibra on Passeig de Gràcia, and leading his internationally touring New Orleans Quintet in cooperation with The Jazzroom. Whether delighting audiences at BarTeatro Tinta Roja with Dante Sollini, playing for the Barcelona Shag Society, or touring the French Alps with Charlie Garcia’s “Cantina Band,” Konstantin brings his swinging, spirited musicianship to every performance.
