Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

Jazz choir concerts in Seattle, both group songs and solo performances with a 4-man intimate jazz band backing us up, were my favorite performances every year, but I also enjoyed a little bar called Cafe Racer, which hosted my alternative rock band, and we got to play live nights in Seattle and open for bigger artists.

What's your favourite type of event?

I love any chance to perform and engage with a crowd but jazz bars, or smaller, intimate venues with a band, are my favorite

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have been singing on stage in musicals, choirs, and solo performances for about 15 years, but really started taking gigging seriously and independently doing so 4 years ago with the start-up of my band.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I love so much music, but in the interest of my jazz influencers, I would point to Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Shayna Steele, but also Stevie Nicks and Haley Williams, Nina Simone, and Alanis Morissette are some of the most influential women in my music choices.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I need nights or evening performances to accommodate schooling, but I can set up within 30 minutes if equipment is provided, and I can perform 1-2 hours preferably.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I love to perform outside!

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Especially with a provided band, I am willing to be given any set list, but also if a client wants me to come up with one, I am happy to do that once provided with the desired genre, atmosphere/ vibe of the event.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients would describe my solo and jazz work as intimate, touching, and personal.
