Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of the best gigs I've had was at the world premiere of 'A Wedding' directed by Robert Altman at Lyric Opera of Chicago! As for a more private scenario, loved singing at the Sunset Marquis Bungalows for a private party and in London on Bond Street's De Beers for their Christmas event, including getting decked out in diamonds.

What's your favourite type of event?

I love weddings, cocktail parties, Christmas parties, really everything is a pleasure to me!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

De Beers Bond Street London Christmas Event
Sunset Marquis Bungalow, West Hollywood, private cocktail parties, two separate occasions
City of West Hollywood 'Artful Distancing' event during CoVid
Jazz at multiple holiday parties - corporate and private homes
Various and extensive Group Muse house concerts with two acts - the LA Opera Babes and solo
Many weddings since I was a teen

I started gigging in high school for weddings, and have always gigged along with the other aspects of my career!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Ella Fitzgerald is one of my major jazz influences, along with Bebel Gilberto, and recently Laufey. I also love Diana Krall!

In the opera world I am very inspired by Renee Fleming and Maria Callas.

Greatest song of all time - in the classical world is 'O mio babbino caro' and in the jazz realm: Corcovado (Quiet Nights and Quiet Stars) or Can't Take That Away From Me

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Most typical would be to arrive an hour before whether I perform with musicians on amps or just acoustic piano and voice, or myself and tracks. This covers loading in and basic sound check. Depending on the degree of setup and length of event, this could vary and will be custom tailored to each client.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes!

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am always open to take on requested material, but I can provide a huge set list of repertoire for clients to peruse.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Sultry, etheral, professional, passionate!
