Influenced by her Lisbon upbringing amongst musicians and by all the variety of music she has absorbed, her DJ sets want to take you on a journey through emotions that can come from any corner of the musical universe.

Mayan's journey through the world of music is as diverse as it is inspiring. Growing up in Lisbon surrounded by musicians, she experienced early on the deep bond that music can create. This connection fuels her enduring passion to share music as a means to bring people together. In early 2023, along with Sara Wual, she introduced Female Pressure project to Portugal, a global community advocating for equity in electronic music since 1998. Her work is helping raise awareness and foster diversity in Portugal's music industry. She was a mentor for Keychange (UK) and collaboratorated with shesaidso Portugal, guiding and inspiring emerging artists. The summer of 2023 marked a transformative chapter when she moved to Berlin to pursue advanced studies in sound design at the iconic Funkhaus Studios.

Her sets and attitude at legendary venues such as Renate, Golden Gate, and Ritter Butzke cemented her place in Berlin’s music scene. Upon returning to Lisbon, she embarked on a new academic path, enrolling in the Sound Arts and Technology Master’s Program at ESMAE, Portugal's leading public music school. Now living between Lisbon and Porto, she continues to draw inspiration from Portugal's dynamic creative culture. In October 2024, MAYAN reached a new milestone in her career, opening for the renowned band MEUTE at the iconic Coliseu de Lisboa and Coliseu do Porto. These performances marked a significant step in her journey, showcasing her talent to a wider audience and solidifying her reputation as a leading force in electronic music. And now, in 2024 she launched a new party in Lisbon called FRESCA, It’s more than an event promoter—it’s a platform for shared experiences where sound becomes a bridge between people, exploring psychedelic visual and music art.

She's a resident DJ in ELA, a Lisbon-based collective organizing late night parties and underground gatherings in different parts of Portugal since 2016 . Mayan's story exemplifies the transformative power of music and the endless possibilities that come with unwavering dedication. As both an artist and advocate, she continues to leave an indelible mark on the global music community.
