Hello everyone! Meredith here, I'm a classically trained concert harpist with many years of experience playing for all sorts of events in all sorts of places for all sorts of people
After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a BA in Music Performance I was fortunate enough to join the orchestra of Scottish Ballet, and freelance for many years with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, highlights being Edinburgh's International Festival and London's Royal Albert Hall Proms.
I love to surprise clients and guests with my wide variety of music. A bit of a cliché, but Bach to Bollywood it really is!
Many of my songs and pieces, I have arranged for the harp myself and so are uniquely mine
Whichever event you are hosting, for example an afternoon tea, a wedding, celebration of life, dinner, drinks reception, birthday, anniversary, renewal of vows, Christening / naming ceremony, we can work together to choose the right balance of music.
My harp is a full size electro-acoustic concert harp (so plugged or unplugged) with a stunning purple iridescent finish so is also rather eye-catching!
I use my own portable amplifier to help the delicate sound of the harp carry, without it being overpowering, and so need to sit close to a mains power point please
For a church or civil wedding, we would usually be "acoustic" or unplugged as these tend to be more intimate events
My equipment has a PAT certificate and I have PLI to the value of £10,000,000 as a Musicians' Union member
"Having Meredith play the harp at our wedding was truly one of the most unforgettable parts of the entire day. From the moment she began playing, there was this incredible sense of warmth and emotion that filled the air. Her music was so beautiful and thoughtful—it made the whole experience feel even more intimate and meaningful. Hearing familiar songs woven into such an elegant performance felt deeply personal. Meredith didn’t just play music; she brought magic, heart, and soul to our celebration. We’re endlessly grateful for the memories she helped create, and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives" Dika & Richard, Warwickshire, April 2025.
⭐️ Please appreciate that I don't play my instrument outside - so outdoor ceremonies don't work for me.
Usually for a reception I sit just inside open patio doors with the amplifier, and at most venues all can enjoy my music while they mingle indoors or out.
Its important to factor in space for me and my harp!
A minimum of 2m x 2m is comfortable and allows room for guests & waiting staff to circulate.
Any extra space around about us is best for all as well as the valuable harp please.
I work alone and so need to be sure of easy access etc for car and large & valuable harp please.
Parking next to the venue for my time there and some help if there are steps / stairs is essential for me please.
Actually, help is always appreciated from willing hands!
Looking forward to hearing from you
