Yes, we bring all sound equipment, customizable stage and dance floor lighting, and professional backing tracks for full sound
We play tend to continuously for 3+ hour sets; as well we do have options for Spotify playlists upon request.
We play a variety of events but love festivals on account of being outside and participating in the collective, upbeat energy of a diverse audience. Recently we played at the Honeybee Festival in the Georgian Bay area and loved connecting with the other performers, vendors, and families in attendance.
We love them all since they all offer something unique, but if we had to choose it would be festivals!
JJ Blue has been gigging for 30+ years at all types of events as a solo artist and part of various ensembles. After a dynamic career in front line emergency health care, Andrea got her start as a solo performer before fronting a 5-piece dance band and starting this duo project in early 2025. Since forming Midnight Shakers, we're beyond grateful for consistently positive feedback which has resulted in the need to scale back on our solo work to accommodate the influx of performance opportunities.
As his name would suggest, JJ Blue is a true lover of blues. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of many genres which has inspired his love of performing dynamic and soulful classics. You name it, he not only plays it - he becomes it! From Jimi Hendrix to Sam Cooke to Chris Stapleton, there truly is nothing out of his wheelhouse.
Similarly to JJ, Andrea has a deep love and appreciation for vintage music and is drawn to anything with soul. She loves classic artists like Etta James, Aretha Franklin as well as modern icons like Amy Winehouse, Sheryl Crow and Norah Jones. Growing up in the 90s has also instilled something of an affinity to grunge and alternative rock as well as nostalgic party anthems that get everyone singing along.
JJ Blue & Andrea have blended thier diverse love of music into a massive compendium of polished tracks. They love to transform crowd favourites into memorable duets and creative mashups.
Depending on the venue, we can set up in a flash (less than 20 minutes); however we have always maintained that if you're not early, you're late!
We can play any length of show and typically perform continuous sets of 3 hours so as to not disrupt the momentum of the vibe we've strategically cultivated through what we proudly consider to be a knack for reading the audience.
Absolutely - we love being outside
We love learning requests ahead of time, and constantly work at adding more options to our catalog!
Engaging, energetic, soulful, polished and memorable. We're often told that we exceed expectations and have been offered a number of musical residencies.
