My favorite violinist is Heifetz. I have a classical background. For pop electronic style violinists, I really like David Garrett and Ara Malikian (and they are also great classical violinists!)

arrival 1 hour before start. setup often takes only 15 minutes, but I still plan for one hour. larger bookings requires more elaborate planning to determine soundchecks. all of this is covered in our initial phone/zoom/live consultation.

For wedding ceremonies and other key moments of an event I encourage clients to send me their requests and/or preferences if they have them up front. However, with that said, I have been a performer at private events for 16 years. I have put together a VERY GOOD repertoire of songs that I know work well at parties, and I know how to play them, and have spent a lot of time learning and writing arrangements of them that sound good and I'm comfortable with them. For a longer background music set, or a concert, i strongly recommend that clients trust my judgement - not only to choose great repertoire that I know really well, but to "read the crowd" and figure out what the best possible set list is for their particular event. The songs I play at events are mainstream pop, some well known vintage songs (oldies, disco, motown, R&B, classical crossover, broadway, etc) - most of these songs are known and loved by most people. In other words - your guests probably know and love them!
