SoulStruck is a 6-piece high-energy Soul band. We cover the 60s and 70s Motown, R&B, and soul classics that will take you back to the days of the legendary groups and artists who performed the music that helped shape our lives. The band is fronted by the lead singer, who has performed from Halifax to Victoria and back, winning best vocalist/band awards in every city where he competed. He is backed by a highly skilled group of seasoned musicians who complete a five-piece harmony that complements the musical selections with a dynamic punch. The musicians consist of:
Doug Lucas (lead singer/ percussion), Jamie MacLeod (rhythm, lead guitar, and backing vocals), Dave Cherub (bass guitar and lead and backing vocals), Paul Claxton ( keyboards and lead and backing vocals) kevin Bryan (drums and backing vocals), and Chuck Cave (saxophone and percussion)

We need a performance space of at least 8 meters x 5 meters. We require 2 x 13-amp power sockets and 3-5 parking spaces
Directions to the venue, load-in times, and the best way to load into the venue.
Yes, we’re completely self-contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig we will use house lighting when available)
Yes, we have pre-recorded music specific to our genre of music to keep the show up-tempo.
Other than the musicians' personal gear, we try to bring the stage noise to a minimum by eliminating stage monitors and using in-ears for our musicians, making it easier to control room volume.
We have performed at the Richmond Night Market (the largest market in North America). The event founder and owner said that we are one of the most exciting bands to perform there in its 26 years of operation.
Any event that allows dancing. We thrive on the energy of an excited dance crowd that came out to dance the night away and participate in the vibes from the stage.
I have been performing on stages across the country since the age of fourteen and have participated in television productions and large theatre and festival events. My bandmates have a varied history of music performance and have traveled throughout Western Canada with a large number of bands.
My biggest musical influences were my Father and Mother. They introduced me to the greatest and most talented artists and groups of the time and taught me that music is meant to bring people together, no matter the background. My main purpose is to entertain.
We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best
Absolutely, but we ask to have shelter from the elements and either a stage or a flat, solid surface with power nearby.
We have a wide variety of songs and artists in our playlist that suit the genre and band's style, but we are open to the odd suggestion if given time to add it to our playlist for the event.
