Mr and Mrs Blue Sky are a vocal duo known for their unique harmonic tribute to the music of Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). Based in Cornwall, England, the duo consists of Steve and Anita Bawden, who bring both professional qualifications and a deep passion for ELO's iconic sound to their performances. Anita holds a Grade 8 qualification in musical theatre, while Steve has a Level 2 in Music Production, showcasing their strong musical foundation.
Their act is characterized by an authentic recreation of ELO's timeless hits, such as "Mr. Blue Sky," "Evil Woman," "Livin’ Thing," "Don’t Bring Me Down," and "Xanadu," alongside selections from Jeff Lynne’s work with the Traveling Wilburys, including songs associated with Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and George Harrison. They aim to evoke nostalgia, taking audiences back to a simpler time with their compact audio-visual show, which often includes a laser and light display to enhance the experience.
Mr and Mrs Blue Sky cater to a variety of events, from intimate private parties and weddings to large-scale festivals. They’ve performed at notable venues and events, including the Newquay Beer Festival, Rattlerfest, the Camborne Show, and Cornwall’s prominent Boardmasters Festival in 2023. In 2022 alone, they played over 100 shows, ranging from social clubs to holiday parks, demonstrating their versatility and popularity.
