We are currently performing at BBB Restaurant in Sunninghill on Sunday afternoons where we usually perform for 3 sets of 40 minutes unless otherwise specified by BBB management. Alvin has done a Standard Bank Jazz event where he was the music director perform with Gerald Albright and Jonathan Butler.
Peter has performed at a corporate birthday event in Germany for an international organisation called Applied Chemicals Application Technology. Also performing with Timothy Ehrenreich and friends at Grand West Casino.
Although we can play at any event, we love to perform at restaurants, birthday parties, weddings and festivals.
Alvin Hendricks the bass guitarist has been full time in the music industry for the past 30 years and has worked with SA Pop Idols, The Voice Nigeria and is Jonathan Butler’s preferred bassist for Joburg performances. Peter Joseph (who is also a dj) has been in the music industry for the past 15 years performing with musicians at private functions birthday/weddings and events. We, By Design, was formed in September 2024.
George Benson, Earl Klugh, Joe Sample, Bob James, Michael Jackson, Fourplay, Michael McDonald, RJ Benjamin, Nestor Torres and Koinonia. These artists have played a critical role in our upbringing and has always served as an inspiration throughout our development as musicians.
We usually do 3 x 40 minutes sets with background music done by Peter Joseph in between sets. An hour prior to performance commencement is usually allocated for setting up and sound check.
