Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Because I am a stand alone performer I don't require much space, about 3 metres each way. I do require a plug socket close by and (if performing outside) to be under shade.

What information do you require about a venue?

Directions, load in times and location, if parking is available.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I provide all my own music equipment (unless performing abroad, in which case I would need the PA to be provided.) If you feel lighting is required then this can be arranged at a small extra cost.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I am happy to provide music in-between sets to keep things running smoothly.

Are you fully PAT tested and do you have PLI?

Yes all my equipment is fully PAT tested and I do have PLI which is renewed every year.I am able to send these off to venues, should they need me to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

I got the amazing opportunity to sing at a hotel in The Maldives for 3 months. I would sing on an island in the middle of the pool as the sun was setting. It was a brilliant adventure that I'll never forget!

What's your favourite type of event?

I have to say I don't really have a favourite, it can sometimes be the least expected shows that turn out to be the best!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

From musicals, to performing at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Chichester Festival Theatre, international hotels and Concorde 2, it's fair to say I have dedicated my life to music.

My journey began at a young age; as a child I was classically trained, which led to my involvement in musicals and production shows. I later studied contemporary music styles at The British Institute of Modern Music.

It was there that my passion for Jazz flourished. I realised how performing old classics can capture a heart, and how the likes of Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald can get anyone out of their seat and swinging.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone are iconic in my opinion and have changed the way I think about music forever. I definitely try and channel them into my performances.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I normally aim to arrive 1 hour before performance time to set up and sound check in good time. Set times can vary depending on the event, this can be completely customised! But my most popular performance time is 2 x 50 minutes with a 20 minute break in the middle

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely, I do need a power source close by, and a shaded area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I encourage clients to customise their perfect set list from my repertoire, I do take requests for an extra fee of £10 per song. However requests can't always be guaranteed especially if the event is less than a month away.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

When I speak to listeners after a show the most common thing they tell me is that 'they are transported to a memory' sometimes it brings tears to eyes and sometimes listeners are dancing and singing along.

Are you a stand alone performer?

Yes, I perform to high quality backing tracks. I supply all my own equipment and don't take up much room, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to a full swing band, without compromising on quality, then solo performers are great route to go down.
