Established in 2014, NEW STREAM BRASS BAND is Singapore’s first-ever New Orleans style brass band, delivering an electrifying blend of jazz, funk, Latin, and hip-hop with a distinctive local flavor. This dynamic ensemble is not just about music; it’s about creating an atmosphere of celebration and joy, perfectly suited for dancing and partying.
The band’s repertoire is diverse, ranging from classic New Orleans Jazz and standard jazz tunes to New Orleans Brass Band favorites, original compositions, and fresh takes on chart-topping hits by artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, and Bob Marley—all reimagined with a New Orleans twist.
Featuring a unique lineup of separate bass and snare drums, washboard, sousaphone as bass, and powerful lead horns—trumpet and trombone—New Stream Brass Band embodies the spirit of New Orleans’ iconic “Second Line” parades. With a strong presence at outdoor festivals and roving performances, their versatile style is ideal for any occasion, including seasonal events, weddings, corporate functions, and more. Bring the soul of New Orleans to your next event!

If it’s a roving performance, there is no equipment we need you to prepare. (If we perform on stage, we may request microphones for the number of performers.)
We may ask whether microphones can be provided for each performer as well as for the MC. Additionally, if we perform on stage, we may ask whether a drum set is available.
We will bring our own instruments. We do not provide lighting equipment.
Yes, if needed, we can create Spotify playlists and play it between sets. In that case, the venue will need to provide the equipment to play the music.
One of our standout experiences was performing at the Singapore Grand Prix, delivering high-energy roving sets within a world-class event. We’ve also performed at the Singapore International Jazz Festival, bringing our New Orleans–style street brass into a major music setting. In both, audiences didn’t just watch—they moved and celebrated with us.
We love outdoor festivals and street-style events where we can move, interact, and engage the audience. That said, we also enjoy weddings and private events where we can create a lively, immersive atmosphere.
We started with a shared passion for New Orleans brass culture, where music is part of every celebration—from weddings to street parades. We’ve since performed at festivals, corporate events, and private functions across the region, delivering a flexible, high-energy style on stage and as a roving, interactive experience.
We are strongly influenced by the New Orleans brass band tradition, drawing inspiration from Grammy-winning groups such as Rebirth Brass Band and Hot 8 Brass Band, as well as Trombone Shorty. Funk pioneers like The Meters have also shaped our approach to groove and rhythm. We admire musicians who bring high energy, strong identity, and a powerful connection with audiences in live performance. For us, the greatest song of all time is one that brings people together, and the globally recognised New Orleans classic “When the Saints Go Marching In” perfectly captures that spirit.
Yes, we’re happy to take song requests. We adapt songs into our New Orleans brass band style, and depending on the complexity or level of arrangement required, additional costs may apply.
We are very flexible with our lineup. Most of our clients book us as a 5–7 piece brass band, depending on the scale and energy of the event. We can also perform as a smaller 4-piece lineup for more intimate indoor settings or where there are budget considerations.
We are experienced in both stage performances and roaming/walking sets, creating interactive and high-energy experiences for audiences. For stage performances, we may require instrument microphones depending on the event size. For roaming sets, no technical setup is required.
Yes, we are available for bookings both locally and internationally. For overseas engagements, travel and accommodation arrangements would typically be covered by the client.
Yes, we can tailor our outfits to match the tone of your event—whether it’s formal, casual, or themed. Our standard look is inspired by traditional New Orleans Brass Band style, featuring red suspenders and straw hats. We’re happy to adjust our attire to fit your vision, and any additional costs will depend on the level of customisation required.
We typically recommend performance sets of around 30 minutes, or up to 45 minutes maximum, to maintain high energy and audience engagement. Setup time is minimal and depends on the performance format—roaming sets require no setup, while stage performances may require a short soundcheck if amplification is needed.
Yes, we’re happy to perform outdoors. Our brass band setup is well suited for open-air events and roaming performances. We just require basic considerations such as weather protection and a suitable performance space.
Clients are welcome to have input on what we play. We have a core repertoire suited to our New Orleans brass band style, but we’re happy to tailor the setlist to match the tone of your event. Song requests can also be accommodated where possible, with arrangements adapted into our style.
Clients often describe our performances as energetic, engaging, and full of character. They love the interactive, feel-good atmosphere we create, bringing a lively New Orleans street party vibe that gets people smiling, moving, and involved.
