Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

A bourbon distillery has hired us several times a year starting in 2019.

What's your favourite type of event?

Hard to say. I really like public events because we can advertise and invite friends. But I have to admit private gigs are often the best and have the most appreciative audiences.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started playing gigs when I was about 20 years old back in the late 70s. The earliest gigs were nursing homes, then coffee houses, bluegrass festivals and bars.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I like a lot of different things, folk music from all over the world. Early influences were Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Gid Tanner and the Skillet Lickers, Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

It usually takes about an hour for setup. We have had performances up to four one hour sets.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, we like performing outdoors. We do have a cover if needed.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can play requests if we know what they are ahead of time.
