I'm Derek Rue, a solo singer at Theater Trier and a graduate of the Universitat Mozarteum Salzburg, with over 15 years on professional stages and more than 200 performances. At your event you get exactly that: a singer who performs in front of a paying audience every week, only now a few metres from your guests.

WHAT YOU GET

No band to book, pay and accommodate. No lengthy setup. One professional singer, high-quality orchestral backing, and full sound equipment included. Setup takes minutes, not hours, and no stage is required. Dining rooms, terraces, courtyards, hotel ballrooms and churches all work.

I plan the programme personally with you, song by song, around your venue and the flow of your evening. On the night I read the room: when to stay soft while people are talking, and when to open up the full voice. Every set ends on a big number, the one guests reach for their phones to film.

FORMATS

Arrival atmosphere, approximately 20 minutes. Ideal for receptions, cocktail hours and welcoming guests.

The signature experience, 60 to 75 minutes. An immersive dinner performance with a curated programme and light background music between vocal sets.

Full evening performance, 90 to 120 minutes. For weddings, landmark celebrations and gala evenings, with a live pianist available as a premium option.

THE DUO OPTION

For weddings and larger celebrations I can bring in a professional soprano for the great duets, including the Drinking Song from La Traviata and the love duets people know from films but rarely hear live. Two trained opera singers, a few metres from your guests.
