The most memorable gig was when I was on tour around the U.K. supporting Gerry & The Pacemakers, we played at Fairfield Halls, Such a big Theatre.
Not strictly a paid gig but whilst on holiday in Jamaica and being a lover of Reggae music I got up and jammed with the resort house band, I was feelin' Irie.
I think it has to be Corporate or Masonic functions, they tend to be up on the dance floor from the 1st song, and also Weddings, everyone is there to let their hair down!
As a child I was in an award-winning school choir and just loved singing and playing guitar, then in my twenties I was living in Jersey and used to follow a duo in the pubs and clubs around the Island, unexpectedly one of the duo had to return to the mainland and the other member knew I could sing and asked me to join him in his place.
That was it, I was hooked! To date I have performed over 3,000 gigs!
That's a tough one! With so many musical influences around, I would have to say Bob Marley, Barry White or even George Benson, I think the best song would have to be "In Your Eyes" by George Benson.
From arriving at the venue it will take roughly two hours to bring the gear in, set up and sound check the levels.
After the show, to strip the gear down and load up the van will take between 1 x hour - 1.5 x hours.
Performance times would be either 1 x 45, 2 x 45 or 1 x 60 minutes set(s).
Yes! More than happy to play outside and if it is too sunny I will set up my own gazebo (5 x Mts by 5 x Mts) and perform under this.
Having been in the business for over 30 years, and played over 3, 000 gigs I can generally gauge the type of audience and their requirements to get the party started.
