Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We prefer a performance space that is at least 12 feet deep x 16 feet wide. We request two dedicated 15 amp circuits. We arrive in 8 cars and we do not have a truck. If our sound system is required then we need a way to roll equipment to the event space without stairs.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need instructions about where to load in equipment, where to park, and where to store empty cases during the performance.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We can arrive fully self-contained with a professional sound system and basic stage lighting. We're also happy to work with your audio engineer and sound system if you have house sound.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we're happy to spin music from a Spotify playlist prior to our first set and between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of our favorite events to play is Bethlehem Musikfest, and we've been a crowd favorite there for 20+ years. Our horn section got to perform with The Doors in Atlantic City in front of an enormous audience. We have opened for Jay Leno, The Gin Blossoms, and were co-billed with Elton John for the opening of The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. The Sellersville Theater may be the best live music venue we've ever performed in.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love to play at all kinds of private and public events, but there's nothing as satisfying and enjoyable as weddings. Each one is unique, and we love helping couples celebrate one of the most important events of their lives!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Prior to establishing our band we each played in ensembles of all types. Most of our musicians have music degrees and several are currently music teachers. We came together out of tremendous love and respect for the artists who's amazing music we do our best to cover authentically. We have been gigging together for 25+ years.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

There are 8 of us, each with varied musical influences, including but certainly not limited to: Pat Metheny, Neil Young, Barry Manilow, J.S. Bach, Leonard Bernstein, The Beatles, Vinnie Calaiuta, Earth Wind & Fire, Galt McDermott, Bela Fleck, Marvin Gaye, Billy Joel. If we had to choose one favorite artist that might be Stevie Wonder. Impossible to choose THE greatest song of all time, but Aja by Steely Dan is near the top!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We typically arrive 90 minutes prior to the performance for setup. We are prepared to perform up to 4 hours of dance and party music, typically 3 sets with short breaks. Actual performance times vary and depend on our client's needs.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, we're happy to perform outside, but we request a flat, level surface with adequate coverage from sun and the elements, and electrical service close by.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We invite clients to choose some "must play" songs and to specify "do not play" songs from our repertoire. We're also happy to learn a few "special request" songs to learn just for their event. After that we will "read the room" and adjust what we play based on crowd response. In 25+ years we have never played the same set twice!

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Some actual quotes from our fans and clients: "The band’s song list is never ending and covers all styles of music selection and taste." / "Everyone, from the 3 year olds to the 70 year olds, were on the dance floor all the time." / "This is the best wedding/party band I’ve ever heard and I couldn’t recommend them strongly enough." / "They totally brought the house down. They were amazing in every way!!! WE LOVED THEM!!! Total professionals, amazing singers, made my wedding!" / "The level of talent this band has is extraordinary. They are truly professional musicians at the highest level. They made our day very special. They’ll change your mind about what you think a wedding band should be."
