We require a large enough space for 2 or 3 musicians to perform in. Mains power sockets close to performance if possible and whatever possible the ability to unload and load equipment near to the venue entrance. If there is a house PA system that will always be an advantage, otherwise if we are notified in advance we can provide our own PA system.

If the venue is located in a hard to find area or parking availability is limited, we would like to be informed in advance and any helpful arrangements that can be made we will greatly appreciate.

Yes we provide our own PA system and lighting, unless other arrangements have been made. For example when the venue has a house PA system available for the performers to use.

Yes we are happy to provide playlist in between sets and before the performance and our PA system is available if the client would prefer to choose their own playlists.

Between the members of the ship and trio combined we have all played nationally and internationally at many major venues large and small. As the Bassist in the band I have played at Ronnie’s Scott’s on various occasions and the Jazz Cafe, as well as TV work like Top Of The Pops when it was showing. Personally the times I’ve performed. At the Glastonbury Festival were amongst my Favorite performance experiences.

We really enjoy most events although small intimate venues are especially enjoyable where you can experience and share the experience of the musics effects with the audience.

I began performing in the late 80s as an electric and upright bassist. Performing a variety of styles of music. I came across Masie Diamonds during the 90s playing in some London’s most exciting and influential Jazz and Jazz Funk/Fusion bands. I began playing bass in Reggae bands so it was a coincidence when I met up with Masie Diamonds again many years later to form our current group. Within
The band we not only get to perform and entertain appreciative audiences, we at the same time get to return to the origins of the music we group up listening to which is a mix of Jazz, Reggae, Ska, Soul, Pop and RnB.

I couldn’t even attempt to name a favorite song of all time, although I will name some of my inspirations and artists who have influenced the music we play. Dennis Brown, Alton Elis, Luisa Marks, Jimmy Cliff, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Fela Kuti, of course Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Donny Hathaway, MJ to name but a few of our great influencers in music and what we perform.

For many decades, I would often describe my experience as the analogue era overlapping into the Digitol era.

Our standard performance consists of 2x45 minute set which can extend to 2x60 minutes. Although we can can be flexible to adapt this to fit bespoke occasions where the program may vary in duration.

We are happy to perform outside although we ask for a flat level surface where possible, some over head cover and access to power supplies.

We select song from a larger reference list in our sets and when informed in advance we can often accommodate a set amount of specific songs if they are part of our current song list.

Previous clients most commonly detour performances as exciting, dynamic, very entertaining and even thought provoking when we feature some of the more memorable classic Reggae songs and the Jazz classics in a Reggae style that some of the more mature audience members recognize. It’s always a party although for some it is a trip down memory lane as well.
