Personalised Symbolic Wedding Ceremonies in English or Croatian

Your love story, beautifully spoken.

I am Natasa, an independent symbolic wedding celebrant based in Split, Croatia. I create and conduct warm, elegant wedding ceremonies in English, Croatian or a carefully balanced combination of both languages.

My service is ideal for destination weddings, whether in Croatia or in a country of your choice, for couples who want the ceremony their families and friends experience to feel meaningful, personal, and truly connected to them.

A ceremony shaped around you

A symbolic ceremony gives you the freedom to choose the location, wording, structure, length and atmosphere of your wedding ceremony.

Your ceremony can be romantic and deeply personal, relaxed and joyful, elegant and traditional, or short and simple. You decide how much of your story you would like to share.

Some couples want a fully personalised ceremony filled with memories, meaningful details and gentle humour. Others prefer a graceful, traditional ceremony with only the essential words, their “I do” moment, an exchange of rings and a kiss. I will listen carefully to your wishes and create a ceremony that feels natural and comfortable for both of you.

My celebrant services include

Fully personalised wedding ceremonies

Through our conversations and a specially prepared couple’s questionnaire, I learn about your relationship, the experiences you have shared, the qualities you value in one another and your hopes for the future. I then turn those details into an original ceremony written especially for you.

Elegant and simple ceremonies

If you prefer to keep personal details private or would like very little speaking, I can create a shorter, more traditional ceremony without a detailed love story, personal vows or extensive guest participation. It will still feel warm, dignified and appropriate for the importance of the occasion.

Ceremonies in English or Croatian

Your ceremony can be conducted entirely in English or Croatian.

Bilingual English-Croatian ceremonies

For international weddings, I can create a bilingual ceremony that allows both families to feel included. The languages are thoughtfully arranged so the ceremony flows naturally, without making every moment feel like a literal repetition.

Personal vows and promises

You may write and read your own vows, repeat carefully prepared promises after me or simply answer a ceremonial question with “I do.” I can offer guidance, examples and practical support if you would like to write your own vows but are unsure where to begin.

Ring exchange

The exchange of rings can be included even if you have already completed your legal marriage ceremony. I will prepare suitable words to introduce the rings and the promises they represent.

Readings, poems and music

I can help you select readings, poems or other texts that suit the tone of your ceremony. Family members and friends may also participate by giving a reading, sharing a few words or contributing musically.

Symbolic wedding rituals

If you would like to add a meaningful visual element, I can help you choose and incorporate a symbolic ritual.

The meaning of the chosen ritual will be explained naturally within the ceremony, and I will guide everyone involved through each step.

Family and guest participation

Children, parents, witnesses and other important people can be included through readings, shared promises, symbolic rituals, ring presentations or another role that feels meaningful to you.

Cultural, spiritual or family traditions

Elements reflecting your cultures, family backgrounds, beliefs or spiritual values can be respectfully incorporated. This is particularly suitable for multicultural weddings and couples with different beliefs who want both perspectives represented with care.

Tributes to absent loved ones

If you wish, the ceremony can include a sensitive acknowledgement of someone important who cannot be present or who is remembered with love.

Symbolic certificate signing

A non-legal commemorative certificate may be incorporated into the ceremony, with the option of including symbolic witnesses.

How we will create your ceremony

1. Our first conversation

We begin with an online or in-person conversation about your wedding, venue, ideas and preferred ceremony style. This is also an opportunity for us to get to know one another and make sure I am the right celebrant for you.

2. Personalising the ceremony

Depending on your chosen level of personalisation, you will complete a couple’s questionnaire or share your story with me during a planning conversation. We will discuss the structure, tone, vows, readings, music, ring exchange and any symbolic elements you would like to include.

3. Preparing the final details

I write your ceremony and share the draft with you for review. We refine the wording until it feels right, then confirm the final running order and the roles of everyone taking part.

Where appropriate, I can communicate with your wedding planner, venue coordinator, musicians, readers and other suppliers to help the ceremony run smoothly.

4. Your wedding ceremony

On the day, I arrive in advance to complete the final checks and coordinate the ceremony details. I then conduct your ceremony with warmth, confidence and a calm professional presence, allowing you to be fully present in the moment.

A ceremony rehearsal can also be arranged if required.

Professional language and confident delivery

As a professional English-Croatian translator and an experienced moderator and public speaker, I bring precision, sensitivity and confidence to every ceremony. I understand how important the right choice of words, tone and pace can be—especially when two languages and cultures come together.

My aim is to create a ceremony that feels sincere and beautifully balanced: emotional without being overwhelming, personal without making you uncomfortable, and ceremonial without feeling formal or distant.

Locations

I am based in Split and available for weddings throughout Dalmatia and at other destinations by prior arrangement.

Travel, accommodation, rehearsals and any special ceremony materials can be discussed and confirmed as part of your individual quotation.

Important information about symbolic ceremonies

I conduct symbolic, celebrant-led wedding ceremonies. These ceremonies are not legally binding and do not replace the official civil marriage procedure.

Couples who wish to be legally married must complete the required legal formalities separately through the appropriate authority in Croatia or in their country of residence. Many destination-wedding couples complete the legal registration privately beforehand and reserve their vows, rings, personal story and main celebration for their symbolic ceremony.

Whether you are planning an intimate ceremony by the sea or celebrating with all your family and friends, I will help you create a moment that sounds like you, feels like you and remains with you long after the wedding day.
