I am currently in two projects, both from the Richmond VA area, Future Projektor (a stoner/doom post-rock instrumental band), and Vigia (metal/rock trio). I have stage, studio and tour experience. Been playing 30+ years, and have played in various genres of rock and derivatives.
Prior to my move to Richmond in 2021, I had a pre-COVID Power Pop project called NiceTown (Philly), and I was working with my friend & former bandmate Joey Perez (Blessed Muthas), with Joe Adams (Tone Bandits), and Ian Vos (Low Cut Connie) on his original material.
I was with the post rock band The Black-Market Opera before that, and the horror punk band Voodoo Death Cult, where I was part owner of Astro Monster Studio. I toured with the garage and soul band The GTVs who recorded with Rick Miller of Southern Culture on the Skids at his Kudzu Ranch Recorders and Ron DiSilvestro from Forge Recording who mixed the tracks.
The GTVs opened for Matthew Sweet, the Plimsouls, Southern Culture on the Skids, JC Brooks and Palmyra Delran. Also at that time, I was in the punk side project Slagmatter with Mike Reese of the band Loafass and Skinny Timo of the Riverside Odds and Handsome Pete's.
A couple summers ago I did an east coast tour with desert rock band King Bison, and I did a one-off production with “Black Lodge Music Ensemble” for the Independent Rock School in South Philly. Prior to this I played with the metal band Syberia, and (as mentioned above), I was with the old school punk band The Blessed Muthas 2011-2014.
From 2010-11, I was in power pop side project with bassist Ross Munro and Matt McDevitt formerly of the band Amerkulus. Between 2009-10 I was in the hard rock & blues cover band Power of Three. And during that time, I did a few sessions with the Gamble & Huff songwriter, Marvin Mitchell, and have a brief stint with Rich Carter of the band Plastron.
Also, during this time, I did a pick-up gig with the rockabilly band Shaky Deville, and farther back, I played with Joey Wilson of “Youth Camp/Hooters” with bassist Martel Fein, and I did a gig with guitarist Chris Unrath (most recently with the band "Action Party" & formerly The Big Mess Orchestra with Dean Sabatino of The Dead Milkmen). In '98 I worked with The Stuntmen with Ben Brower--also formerly of the GTVs. In 1995, I moved to Philly, and did some one-offs with Carl Hinds of the bands Dandelion/The Shemales.
While still in Seattle, my former UW classmates James Lane & Kurt Danielson had a band called “Bundle of Hiss,” that later, for Kurt, became the grunge band, Tad. They courted me for the former band, but I turned them down as I was in a couple bands at the time—The DeMile Brothers blues band & the grunge band Hoi Polloi, with Jim Stapleton, a gifted songwriter from Flint, MI.
So, as you may gather, my influences are varied, but overall, I'd say I have post-punk/post-rock sensibilities, with one foot in the grunge grave, and just enough technique to handle R&B & blues. That said, if you need a drummer, hit me up & thanks for reading.
