Rich Stolp is an Austin-based acoustic singer, songwriter, and guitarist (and lead singer of the duo Ditching Pat) serving up a crowd-pleasing mix of pop, rock, folk, and country that feels instantly familiar (in the best way) but never stale. Raised in the suburbs of New Jersey and musically sharpened in San Francisco’s buzzing scene, Rich brings 25+ years of stage experience—and zero autopilot—to every show.
From festivals and street fairs to coffeehouses, breweries, wineries, hotels, bookstores, and corporate events, he’s played just about everywhere with a plug and a pulse. His sets blend heartfelt originals with sing-along covers, all tied together by catchy melodies, honest lyrics, and a laid-back acoustic vibe that pulls people in and keeps them hanging around for “just one more song.”

I have my own equipment and gear but require access to an outlet.
I'd like any information about the size of the space, indoor/outdoor, plans for inclement weather if outdoors.
I have all my own gear including a Behringer Europort PA system.
For smaller venues I use a Fishman Loudbox Mini and all equipment is included in each quote.
Yes, I can bluetooth music through my PA/Amplifier.
The best gigs I’ve played are the ones where I can interact with the crowd a bit, but if background music is all that is needed I adapt well. As a solo artist, intimate listening-room shows — breweries, small theaters, and songwriter rounds — are magic because you can feel the songs land in real time. The best venues are always the ones that care about sound, the artist, and the audience.
Smaller venues and private gatherings where the music is just as important as the event. I love being able to read the room and move between originals and covers that fit the moment. I also really enjoy higher-energy shows where I can connect, have fun, and leave people feeling better than when they walked in.
I started gigging over 25 years ago the way a lot of musicians do — writing songs, playing wherever I could, and slowly building confidence and a catalog. Over time that grew into regular solo performances mixing originals and covers, and eventually into fronting the acoustic duo Ditching Pat, where collaboration and live energy became a whole different creative outlet. Between solo work and the band, I’ve played a wide range of venues and events, which has taught me how to read a room, adapt quickly, and always serve the song first.
I’m drawn to artists who put honesty first — strong songwriting, real emotion, and melodies that stick with you. Influences range from singer-songwriters to alternative and roots-leaning artists. I have many favorites but some are John Mayer, Matchbox 20, and Counting Crows.
I arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the performance to set up and familiarize myself with the space. I also perform up to 3+, 50 minute sets.
I'm happy to perform indoors or out and if possible, prefer shade for sunnier days. I'd also prefer a flat, level surface with a power supply nearby.
I have a large catalog of songs from across the decades, including Christmas, and can provide a list to choose from. Given enough notice I'm happy to learn a few songs as well.
Performances set a wonderful atmosphere and he's professional through and through. Communication is a breeze and set up is always smooth.
