Shropshire's premier string quartet for weddings and functions, Scherzando Strings was formed by professional violinists Sue Harris-Cohen and William Pickering who play as a violin duo together. They are joined by professional 'cellist and viola player to form Scherzando Quartet and Scherzando Trio.
Scherzando Strings play throughout the West Midlands and have a flexible approach to provide the highest standards of music from the grandest venues to country churches, village halls, hotles and home events.
We also give concerts and recitals together as well as playing for social events, fundraising and celebration parties.

We are all professional musicians with many years experience of playing in orchestras and as a string quartet
We love classical music
OWe normally arrive 30 minutes before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.ur minimum hire period is for 2 hours which includes set up and break.
we are happy to play outside as long as we have cover from rain and sun to protect the instruments
we are happy to play special requests. If there is a song that is not in our repertoire we can usually source this or arrange it oursleves. Special arrangements on request for the ceremony only.
