Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We need a performance space of at least 8 meters x 5 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 3 parking spaces.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

"Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a simple lighting rig."

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

"Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music."

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

We performed for the England's football team. It was amazing to entertain the girls and we almost felt like part of the team!"

What's your favourite type of event?

"We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are our favourite!

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

The band started out by playing small gigs at local bars and college parties, gradually gaining a following with their infectious melodies and catchy hooks.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Ska music has been a big influence in forming the band. Drawing heavily from musical traditions such as mento and calypso. Artists like Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster, and The Skatalites played a significant role in shaping Last Train!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

"We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best."

Are you happy to perform outside?

"We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area."

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

"We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them."

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

"Wow, Last Train to Skaville absolutely nailed it! Their energy was infectious, and they had everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. The way they interacted with the crowd and played off our energy was incredible. Our guests haven't stopped talking about how much fun they had, and we couldn't be happier with their performance."
