A guide to booking

Hire Cover Bands in England, United Kingdom

Most of what decides whether a booking runs smoothly is settled before the band arrives, and it depends on the room. Venues in England, United Kingdom range from function suites with a house PA and a fixed curfew to marquees and outdoor terraces where everything has to be carried in, and the same five-piece behaves quite differently in each.

What the Venue Needs to Provide

A four or five-piece needs roughly 4 by 3 metres of flat, dry floor, more once a drum riser or a brass section is involved, plus two or three power sockets within reach of the stage area. Check the load-in route early, because stairs, a long carry from the car park, or a lift too small for a bass cabinet all add time, and some acts charge for it. Ask about a sound limiter before you commit to anything: a limiter set low will cut the power mid-song, and there is no way around it once you are there. Curfews work the same way, since an 11pm finish moves the whole running order earlier than most people expect.

Dates, Travel and Availability

Saturdays in peak season and the whole of December go first, often a year out, so the band you want can end up fixing your date rather than the other way round. Distance shows up on a quote as travel, and occasionally as accommodation when the finish time makes the drive home impractical. Friday and Sunday bookings widen the field considerably if the date is flexible. Ask what the travel figure covers, since some acts price it into the fee within a set radius and charge separately beyond it.

How Much a Cover Band Costs in England

Most bookings in England come in around £700 for two live sets, with duos and trios below that and larger lineups with brass or extra vocalists above it. What varies more than the headline figure is what sits inside it. Check what the quote covers: travel, a DJ set or playlist between sets, and how long the band plays in total rather than how many sets they perform. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date with the balance due close to the event, and overtime is normally charged in half-hour blocks, so agree the finish time in writing rather than on the night.

Skill, great music and fun. A really enjoyable time was had by all 🎶🎵 Catherine B" Based in England 28th September 2026 Catherine Bowcock - Audience Member Photo of The Big Fat Party Band The Big Fat Party Band "Horizon played at my husband’s 50th birthday villa party in Marbella and they were absolutely spectacular. They played all the classic rock and pop hits we grew up with and the sound quality was fantastic. The band brought so much life and energy to our garden setup, and they really interacted with all our guests. Thank you for making it a night to remember for everyone." Based in Milton Keynes, England 8th July 2026 Katie Reynolds - Birthday Photo of Francis Francis "These guys absolutely made our day with their performance! From setting up, to sound check, to the incredible performance on our wedding day, they were fantastic. Our guests loved the music and we have been delighted by the comments we have received from our guests. The musicianship, the perfect sound and the choice of songs were all spot on. Can only say a massive 'thank you'." Based in Milton Keynes, England David and Alex Taylor - Wedding Photo of The Krakens The Krakens "From start to finish we have nothing but praise for The Krakens. Chris was quick to respond to my enquiry looking for a band to play at a 30th birthday party and kept in touch from then on. We were sent a varied list of songs to choose from; a mix of rock/pop both modern and classic. Once the booking was confirmed they asked us if there was anything we wanted added to the list and they would learn them for the evening! On the night the band turned up on time, and set up (and packed up) without any bother. Their performance was totally satisfactory, two excellent one-hour sets which included our requested numbers. Everyone agreed that The Krakens were a friendly, “tight” band that performed with confidence and professionalism which made our night that bit special. Would definitely recommend them!" Based in Bedford, England 17th April 2026 Paul A - 30th Birthday Photo of Nuclear fusion Nuclear fusion ""Big shout out for Nuclear Fusion. They were fantastic! Played an excellent mix of tunes that had all ages up and partying. And they played them really well. We've had loads of people commenting on how brilliant they were. Very highly recommended. Thank you for a great night Nuclear Fusion!! 🥳💃🕺🎸" We had such a great time. Thank you. Lots have asked us for the name of the band!! 👌" Based in Northampton, England Loraine Elks - 50th birthday

Performance formats can usually be adjusted to fit the event schedule.
