Sonalisa Mishra – Live Singer, Performer & Multicultural Fusion Artist
Hi, I’m Sonalisa Mishra, a Brisbane-based professional singer, performer, host and event producer.
I have been trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal from a very young age, and my musical journey has taken me from Indian classical and devotional music to Bollywood, retro, jazz, Western music and world music.
What makes my performances different is that I don’t like to stay within one genre. I love bringing different cultures, languages and musical styles together and creating a repertoire that suits the audience and the occasion.
I perform regularly with my musical partner and mentor Steve Shankar, as a duo, as well as with a larger live band featuring talented musicians on keys, guitar, flute, bass, drums and percussion.
My line-ups include:
🎤 Sonalisa & Steve – Live Duo
Perfect for private parties, dinners, restaurants, cultural events and intimate celebrations.
🎶 Small Live Band
A fuller live sound with additional musicians, ideal for weddings, corporate events and community celebrations.
🎸 Full Live Fusion Band
A complete live music experience with vocals, keys, guitar, flute, bass, drums and percussion. Additional musicians and performers can also be included depending on the event.
My musical style
Bollywood • Indian Classical • Retro • Ghazals • Bhajans • Odia & Indian Regional Music • Jazz • R&B • Soft Rock • Western Classics • World Music • Fusion
I can create a relaxed and elegant atmosphere or bring energy to the dance floor — depending on what your event needs.
I believe live music should feel personal, spontaneous and connected to the audience. I read the room, interact with people and adapt the music rather than simply following a fixed setlist.
Whether you are planning a wedding, private celebration, corporate event, cultural program, restaurant night or charity event, I can create a live music package around your event, audience and budget.
Available across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and interstate by arrangement.

Each and every gig is important to us.

We start giging from an early age. Its been a while now
My passion for the performing arts blossomed at an early age. Beginning my journey in Hindustani Classical Vocals at just three years old, I excelled in numerous competitions and performed on prestigious stages across India. Alongside my musical talent, I am an accomplished Odissi dancer (classical dance form) and has explored acting, appearing in serials and modeling projects.
I have worked with exceptional musicians, often lending my voice to community and charity events.
