Soul Justice Soul Justice - Timeless Groovy Music

Soul Justice was geboren.

In 2022, the idea for a new band was born in Oosterwolde. Singer Jelle and guitarist Saly shared a love of soulful, groovy music and decided to join forces. Their aim was clear: to form a band that would perform songs with passion and joy – songs you simply can’t stand still to.

The musical puzzle soon fell into place. Jelle knew that his colleague Peter was perfectly at home behind a drum kit, whilst Saly had met keyboardist Eddy during a jam session. They clicked musically straight away. Saly also knew bassist Jan Paul from their time together in Soulciety, a band popular in Friesland. With this group of experienced musicians, the foundations were laid for something special.

The first rehearsals took place in an available rehearsal room, where it soon became clear that the musical chemistry was better than expected. The energy, the ensemble playing and the enthusiasm made it immediately obvious that something special was taking shape. Soul Justice was born.

From that moment on, they worked hard to build up a varied repertoire. Step by step, the set list grew into a collection of soul, funk and groove classics, through which the band developed its own distinctive sound.

In the summer of 2024, a gig was scheduled for which keyboardist Eddy was unable to attend due to a visit to the North Sea Jazz Festival. Fortunately, keyboardist Harry – who was known to several band members from previous musical collaborations – was able to step in. That collaboration went down so well that Soul Justice has since occasionally performed on stage with two keyboardists, creating an even richer and more dynamic sound.

Today, Soul Justice is a close-knit band whose members complement each other perfectly, not only musically but also on a personal level. You can hear and see that bond during every performance. With infectious enthusiasm, a solid groove and a real love of playing, the band gets the audience moving.

Let yourself be swept away by the music and dance and swing along during a Soul Justice performance!
