The Susie Hansen Band would love to play for your event -- your wedding, gala fundraiser, corporate event, concert, festival, restaurant, club, Quinceañera, anniversary celebration, birthday party, retirement party, holiday celebration or backyard party.
We play the best of Latin dance music — salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata, bolero, cha cha cha, Latin jazz. We play a little Tex/Mex, and the Electric Slide in Spanish. On the pop side, we can play disco, funk, R&B, classic rock, Motown, jazz and swing (like Frank Sinatra), but our specialty is always great Latin dance music.
We have a very reasonably-priced band-and-DJ package. Our DJ does a terrific job mixing, and has just about every song you might ever want. The DJ typically plays during the band’s breaks, and until the end of the party, giving you continuous music for your entire event.
Our primary ensemble is our 6-piece band. For a more intimate event, please consider our trio or quartet. For a larger or more elaborate event, we can perform with our 9- or 10-piece band.
We're skilled emcees, and can help create your timeline, at no extra charge. It's all part of our package. It's like getting an emcee and coordinator for free!
We're always professional, on time, and responsive to your requests. We dress well. Most of all, we're lots of fun! We'll help you create a very memorable event.
Our band has been together for 30 years, and we play 100 to 125 events just about every year.
Our cocktail music is lively and fun, a perfect background to conversation. Our dinner music is lovely and never too loud. Our dance music will keep the dance floor crowded – we aim for the feet! Our band is a crowd pleaser with its rhythmic energy and drive. The music we play appeals to a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, and to all ages.
Here are some options we offer:
1.) We have terrific Salsa dancers who can provide a lively and flashy floor show, teach the Latin dance steps (also ballroom steps) to the guests, and break the ice on the dance floor. The dancers can start a line dance, mix and mingle with the audience, teach the electric slide, dance individually with the guests and lead a conga line. Together with the band, it’s a great party package.
2.) If your event has an awards presentation, we can perform from our large repertoire of lively and up-beat “play-on” music. We'll choose music that is particularly appropriate for the luminaries of the evening -- each speaker, award recipient and presenter. After their introduction, we’ll play this selection as they walk to the stage, during any photos, and as they leave the stage.
3.) We can provide many technical services, including:
• lights (intelligent dance floor lights, uplighting, pin spots, stage lights, GOBO monograms, follow-spot lights)
• photo booth (with props, an attendant, and unlimited color photos -- printed for the guests, printed for the client, and on a thumb drive).
• sound systems, video screens, wedding ceremony PA, and more.
The Susie Hansen Latin Band has performed in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Chicago, New York City, Norfolk VA, Toronto, and Rosarito Beach, Mexico.
