About / Biography

The Kopy Katz are a high-energy, hard-driving Rockabilly band who put the ROCK into Rockabilly!

Revving up the spirit of the Neo-Rockabilly era with a blistering mix of classic Rock ’n’ Roll, Rockabilly and Rock, The Kopy Katz deliver a show packed with attitude, energy and songs that get audiences on their feet.

Expect Stray Cats, Elvis, Eddie Cochran, T. Rex, The Rolling Stones and Billy Idol — alongside their own original material — all delivered with a distinctive, modern Kopy Katz twist.

With powerful vocals, pounding drums, double bass and plenty of guitar-fuelled swagger, this is far more than a band playing songs. The Kopy Katz bring a full-on live experience designed to get the crowd dancing, singing and partying from the first note to the last.

Whether it’s a Rock ’n’ Roll weekend, festival, biker event, American car show, club night, pub, private party or major event, The Kopy Katz know how to read a crowd and turn up the energy.

A three-piece Rockabilly powerhouse featuring guitar & lead vocals, double bass and drums, with both bass and drums also providing backing vocals. Big sound, tight harmonies and maximum energy — all from three musicians!

The band have supported The Stray Cats legend, Slim Jim Phantom on two of his Uk tours his as well as rockabilly legends The Polecats, plus Restless as well as Darrel Higham & The Enforcers.

If you want Rockabilly with attitude, Rock ’n’ Roll with energy and a live show that leaves the audience wanting more — The Kopy Katz are ready to rock!

Performance space of min 5 x 4 meters (ideally)
Min 2 x 13 amp power sockets

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment and parking. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue."

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as lighting.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

The Stray Cats legend Slim Jim Phantom asked us to support him on two of his UK tours. Have also supported Wet Wet Wet at two of their Wembley Arena shows in London.

What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing all events, they are all very special to us. Private events and festivals are particular favourites.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We came together through our love of the rockabilly and rock & roll genre.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We are hugely influenced by neo-rockabilly legends The Stray Cats. We also draw our sound from the wild rockers from the 1950s. However, the greatest artist ever, in our opinion of course, always is and always will be... ELVIS.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade (if possible), a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Mainly set repertoire list only. It never disappoints!
